My guess is Trump knew everything anyway when he fired Comey and Wray was specifically brought in to drop the hammer.... He just needs to drop it at the right time

So he can prepare a defense for the FBI which at this point a very significant percentage of the people would be in favor of shutting down completely.
The last thing our nation needs is a national stasi protecting the deep state, but that's exactly what the FBI is.
Please stop with the crap about all the good agents. They may be decent men and women but they are doing the work that is being used AGAINST the benefit of the people. Those good agents can find gainful employment elsewhere and actually be productive members of society until then they work for the STASI !
Maybe Trump gave him a sort of veto power. Now the DOJ can't say it had no opportunity to view the material. Cuts off the argument that the executive branch was reckless with allowing the legisltive branch to release by willful blindness.
