the Memo is just a Prelude to something much larger he will say in his State of the Union.
The misinformation out there, even on FR, is frustrating. This is NOT true. The memo is a product of and owned by the House of Representatives. Congress is a separate branch of government and the Executive (president) has no control over any congressional work product and items owned by Congress.
Apparently there is some established process for releasing such congressional work product that includes a review by the Executive, but it occurs only after Congress sends an item to the Executive for review. The Executive cannot take unilateral, preemptive action.
Should not matter, gibsonguy. POTUS can order the declass and release. It’s in his scope, clearly.
Would they try? Probably. Would they win it? Highly unlikely; if we still have a Constitutional Republic.

I think he’s planning on referring to the memo in his SOTU. That’s why he wants it out beforehand.
This is all due to “separation of powers”! We should all be glad it exists! Rats are the ones that seek to violate it and always try do so. The slow ponderous way the FedGov works (and is supposed to work that way!) is a good thing!
If the rats go to their tried and true fallback, hack judges, to block release then just start leaking any and everything.
Dems should know by now to expect the unexpected from DJT.
But their blind arrogance & stupidity will prevent that.

The only person that should Read the Memo to the Public, is Speaker Ryan, it is a product of the House and the President has nothing to do with it, he should steer clear and let CONGRESS do the Job of informing the public on this matter.
Then the President can Order the Handcuffs!!!
They vote to release. Then it goes through the redaction process. It’s going to be February. Unless Trump hands it out before the SoTU speech.
