LOS ANGELES – Family members are worried about the possible deportation of a 30-year-old father of two who was recently detained by ICE after living in the U.S. since being brought here when he was a toddler.
"ICE is abusing their power. They're doing this all across the nation," Roman Maury said outside a court hearing for Torres on Thursday. " He wasn't doing anything wrong. ... He was dropping his kids off at school."
ICE spokeswoman Lori Haley said Torres was targeted for arrest by deportation officers with ICE's Los Angeles-based fugitive operations team. All ICE arrests are "targeted" and never "random," Haley said.
Haley said in the ICE statement that Torres' criminal history includes DUI and felony narcotics possession.
But Roman Maury said Torres has "a few misdemeanors" and no felony record.
Advocates for Torres say he poses no threat or harm to the community, and Roman Maury said her client has learned from past criminal convictions, which she painted as mistakes of youth.
Torres is the father of a 3- and 7-year-old, and has been living in the U.S. since he was brought here by his grandmother. He hardly speaks any Spanish and has no family in Mexico, Arellano said. He works as a manager at a solar panel company in Chatsworth and is a youth football coach.

I’m cheering nothing on and I speak only for myself despite your efforts to expand my role. I am pointing out that Appeal to Emotion and Appeal to Majority are two of the preferred logical fallacies of advocates of illegal aliens.
Questionable tactics is one conversation but disagreement with those tactics as a pretext to ignore or excuse illegal entry and presence in the US is why there has been so little corrective action to date.

But they expect us to follow the letter of (bad) law on anchor babies: the 14th amend. which—like abortion and a `right to privacy’: found nowhere in the Constitution—says nothing which excepts the children of illegal aliens.

If they are still fighting border security, an end to chain migration and deportation of illegals, if Congress as usual has done nothing by March 4th, start large-scale deportations of DACAns on March 5th, with federal district court injunctions and stays filed where they belong—in the round file.

Just send them back. The only compromise I can accept on Trump’s immigration reform plan is grandfathering in the 4 million “chainers” that are in the pipeline. At least they will come here legally.

In my opinion the term “UNDOCUMENTED” means, does not exist officially, in other words, no documentation = no existence.
So, no existence = means just shoot’em and save the resources needed to go through the legal rigmarole.

Kid I’m undocumented as I sit here ...no pockets etc...My birth certificate, US passport and DL are in another room...That’s what being undocumented means to me...you have them but just not on you at present...
undocumented doesn’t mean that you are an illegal alien...unless you are an illegal alien who left his Mexican documents at home...and deliberately...
