Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump is proposing giving 1.8 million young undocumented immigrants a pathway to citizenship in exchange for $25 billion for his long-promised wall and a host of other strict immigration cuts, according to a framework proposed Thursday. The outlines of the deal were described by a White House official for staff on Capitol Hill that CNN was given access to on Thursday afternoon. In what the White House official called a "dramatic concession," Trump would accept a path to citizenship for not just those originally eligible for DACA but for a broader population, adding up to 1.8 million people, the official said.

Ok everybody calm down. I like the deal. I am anti amnesty BUT I want the other stuff. This is how we operate in a democracy. The SAD thing is — McConnell traded away a free AMNESTY vote. I want you people to understand what will happen so you won’t be ignorant. No deal will be made by FEB 8 . McConnell will call a vote on Amnesty, It will pass with DIMs and Rinos. It will go to the house. Paul PINO will cave like a Florida “sink hole” . The Senate bill will pass the House with DIMs plus 30 rinos. We are F###ed, it goes to Trump. He Vetoes a popular concept. Freepers, I have been a lurker for many years finding out the real news from the posts and your comments. For those of you that are so against allowing citizenship, please put yourselves in the shoes of these young people. I now live in my home state of WI, but was a teacher-librarian in a WA district with students whose parents worked the vineyards and orchards. Please consider why they took the risk to be here.

In 1986 immigration was theoretically shut-off. Dems were counting on a future Congresses to ease those types of regulations/States under their control and they did. Dems played the long game well.

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump said he may soon pay a visit to the US-Mexico Border to view border wall prototypes.

Speaking at what is expected to be the last cabinet meeting of the year Wednesday, Trump applauded the prototypes of the wall that have been placed along the border, adding that he may want to look at them in their final form.
“We want to be able to see through ... we have a lot of help from the Border Patrol and from the ICE agents,” Trump said. “We're getting their input on the wall, because who knows better than them.”

Eight border wall types are currently on display. Trump noted at the meeting that there were six border wall prototypes.

The President also emphasized that the walls would be built to be see through, a statement he has made previously.

“We want vision, we want to be able to see through who is on the other side of the wall, and we have some wonderful prototypes that have been put up,” Trump said.

Nope, you are wrong about the wall. Boats and planes have passport checks. Trump will create better checking for that and we will be able to find the visa violators and send them back on another plane.

I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times my cousin and I have been stopped coming back in from a fishing trip on the Gulf of Mexico over the past 20 years and still have two fingers left over. One of those was an overzealous game warden who was looking for somebody doing something shady near a state park, and he let us go without checking our IDs once he realized our boat didn't match the description.
