A Blacksburg man is accused of two rapes, one alleged to have occurred Sunday and another in November, town police announced Monday.
Yeabsira Fetene Lemma, 19, is charged with two counts of rape and two counts of object sexual penetration. He was arrested Sunday without incident and is being held in the Montgomery County Jail, a police news release said.
The news release gave no other details of the incidents that led to the charges.
Online court records list the offense dates for the charges as Sunday and Nov. 4. Lt. John Goad, a town police department spokesman, wrote in an email that the reported incidences involved two victims.
Lemma on Monday had an attorney appointed to represent him and is scheduled to appear in Montgomery County General District Court on March 15 for a preliminary hearing.
Blacksburg investigators ask that anyone with information about the incidents call (540) 961-1150 or leave an anonymous message at (540) 961-1819, or email CIU@blacksburg.gov.
I'm guessing he's either from Lancaster, PA (Amish) or maybe Somalia.
I think Blacksburg (thanks to VA Tech) may be on its way to becoming a sanctuary city like Fairfax County.
BTW, yes I did profile him as a male, but I could be wrong. After all it's the 21st century and he was arrested a couple of days ago so he could have changed his sexual identity a couple of times by now. /sarc
