[FULL TITLE] Stephen Miller in the crosshairs as Republican senator calls hardline Trump immigration adviser 'an outlier' – and the White House fires back

Lindsey Graham claims 32-year-old Trump aide Stephen Miller is torpedoing any possibility of a Senate deal on immigration reform

Graham called Miller 'an outlier' and complained that he's too much of a hardliner and has too much influence with the president

White House fired back and said it's Graham who's the outlier

'As long as Stephen Miller is in charge of negotiating immigration, we are going nowhere,' Graham said

Tensions are flaring between the White House and a moderate Republican senator who claimed a young Trump aide was standing in the way of a bipartisan deal on immigration reform.

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, a longtime advocate of comprehensive immigration reform that leans in the direction of Democrats, blasted hardline Trump-whisperer Stephen Miller Sunday as a meddlesome 'outlier.'

The White House fired back, using the same word to describe Graham in a Washington version of 'I know you are, but what am I?"

Graham's complaint is that Miller, 32, has long been undercutting Trump's ability to cut a deal that might have made Friday's government shutdown unnecessary.

Stephen Miller’s one of the ‘good guys’... he’s a blessing.

Graham is a damned Democrat. Trump won the election BECAUSE he promised to deport the illegals and build the Wall.

Most Americans recognize that we’re essentially being colonized by tens of millions of foreign invaders, and they want their government to do something about it.

No, Graham is the outlier.

Graham speaks of President Trump as though he doesn’t know him at all. He seems to think President Trump shares Graham’s view of DACA, and Miller is doing mind-control over the President to change his mind.

LOL!

you want to bring illegals into America to do work our own people will not do.

I can't tell you how much I hate that lying phrase.

My family and I do the 'work Americans won't do' every day of the week, and we're doing it for less than we ought to because illegals have pushed wages down to levels that are almost unsustainable.

The truth is, Americans built this country, and did all those jobs, when they still paid livable wages.

Nothing occurs to Graham. He believes, like the Bush boys, that Americans are squishy girly men. Ain’t he gonna be surprised?

Conservatives in SC should be burning up Graham’s office phone lines every single day. His staff should be so busy answering phone calls and email that they give up and quit. Why isn’t this happening?

I wish that Trump would say that he's not going to sign any immigration bill with Lindsey Graham as a lead author, and refuse all future negotiations unless he's given a bill with legitimate commitments to immigration law enforcement and elimination of chain immigration and the lottery system. Graham has no more interest in any of these things than any Senate Democrat.

I do not doubt what you say but the Democrats have made it to easy to live off the government. Folks like you and your family are few and far between because of the Federal Government. You and your family have pride,to many Americans no longer have that.
I know where you come from though. I had a job all my life until I retired.I worked for meager wages but worked my way up. But laziness has overtaken America, sorry to say.

South Carolina is no different than any state in America. Money rules. The Republican Party supported Graham and that is that. South Carolina voted for Trump but would not and should not vote for A Democrat and Graham is no better than a Democrat on most issues.

The town I grew up in had no illegal immigrants when that I was aware of. Nor did we have any "guest workers" from Mexico or Central America. But lo and behold, somehow fruit in the orchards still got picked, lawns got mowed, and roofs got tarred. The notion that mass immigration, particularly illegal immigration, is somehow indispensable to America is a lie.
