Feuding Democrats and Republicans in Congress are trying to dodge blame for a paralyzing standoff over immigration and showing few signs of progress on negotiations needed to end a government shutdown that stretched into a second day Sunday.
The finger-pointing played out in rare weekend proceedings in both the House and Senate, where lawmakers were eager to show voters they were actively working for a solution or at least actively making their case why the other party was at fault. The scene highlighted the political stakes for both parties in an election-year shutdown whose consequences are far from clear.
On Sunday morning, President Donald Trump upped the ante by tweeting that Senate Republicans should go "nuclear" if the government shutdown continues.
"Great to see how hard Republicans are fighting for our Military and Safety at the Border. The Dems just want illegal immigrants to pour into our nation unchecked," Trump tweeted.
"If stalemate continues, Republicans should go to 51% (Nuclear Option) and vote on real, long term budget, no C.R.s!"

I thought about this but something came to mind. If they voted to remove the insane 60 vote cloture rule I doubt the Republicans could gather a majority. Even if they did it opens up an opportunity for a couple traitors to jump ship and change parties which would give the dems absolute control over the Senate and that would mean goodbye to any chance of conservative Judges.
I do think they should have abandoned that 60 vote cr@p years ago. Fun times ahead for sure.
Some Dem’s be in need of re-election.
Though they all probably got an arranged free vote on Fri., there were 5 ‘Rats who voted for. (5 Pubies voted against - probably traded votes for appearances knowing that it made no difference. - #Kabuki)
John McCain is HISTORY in the Senate..He will never return to the Capital to ever vote again..
He returned to AZ to take his last breath...maybe he already has...no one has seen him or heard from him...other than Graham giving a wild Fairy Tales, that he went to visit John and and they chatted for hours, did a lot of laughing...yea right...
As far as we know he could be on life support waiting for the perfect moment to die and turn off the machine..
Something very strange is going on with that family...
JMO...he is a wasted vote in Congress..A VOTE WE NEEDED...AND HE REFUSED TO RESIGN AND STEP DOWN...
