An Amnesty Here, an Amnesty There

When President Trump ended the illegal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA), liberals and their media exploded.  "Trump will rip these children from their families, from the only home they've ever known!”

Of course, very few if any DACA recipients, also called "DREAMers," are "children."  Applicants must be at least 15 years old and under 31 years of age to enroll in DACA.  At least that was the rule.

That age limit went out the window in 2014, when Obama opened DACA to anyone who had ever been a child.  Through a series of executive actions, Obama "expanded the (DACA) program to people of any current age who entered the United States before the age of 16 and lived in the United States continuously since January 1, 2010.”

But wait, there's more!  Obama's magical pen also takes care of Mom and Dad, allowing parents to apply for Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA).

In fact, Obama took care of the whole family, expanding "provisional waivers of unlawful presence to include the spouses and children of lawful permanent residents and U.S. citizens”

Factor in anchor babies, and it's chain migration on steroids.

But okay – maybe DREAMers in school or gainfully employed with no criminal record beyond their illegal residence should be allowed to stay.  But then Congress should legalize DACA in its current form, not seek an upgrade.  DACA doesn't give DREAMers a path to citizenship or even legal permanent residency.  The very name states that it's "deferred action," a temporary reprieve.

Besides, DREAMers already have most benefits of citizenship.  They can obtain a valid driver's license, enroll in college, and legally secure jobs.  In fact, they can do everything except...wait for it…vote.

This is why Trump's supporters get wobbly when the president huddles with the enemy, why we break into a sweat when the president does his negotiating shtick with people who don't negotiate, don't compromise, lie, cheat, and eventually win. Democrats and establishment Republicans will continue to hold out for amnesty, will refuse to stop the visa lottery and chain migration.  And there will be no wall, no permanent barrier to block future Democrats and cheap labor.

Those are the facts.

How about this: give those 870k "amnesty" and mandate that all other illegal aliens are to be deported, no exception, no chain migration (including via those 870K, no more catch-and-release, just simply deported. Maybe be nice and say they have 90 days to voluntarily leave, else if deported, permanently barred from returning.

I could live with flip and amnesty for those 870K and deport the other 30-60 million others.

This is our final chance to keep our country.
The Bush League Republicans in concert with the Democrats have been flooding the country with fraudulently documented foreigners for decades to force US into an amnesty.
They only need one more amnesty to complete the Bush Plan for North Mexico.
Once we legalize any number that will only result in pressure to amnesty the rest.
How can we deport their parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings?
Just say no.

For parents? He ended the deferred deportations but I don’t know how many have been deported. I think they’re getting gangs/criminals out first.

He didn't end it. He extended their stay to March. Some of Obama's dreamers have killed while Trump has kept them here.

Give amnesty to the DACAns—not `Dreamers’, Durbin and Co. ran that bill by Congress over-and-over and it never passed but the MSM uses it anyway—and every “immigrant” in America will claim to be one, along with their families, shirttail relatives and buddies back in Mexico waiting for Amnesty II.

POTUS is doing everything humanly possible. Any criminals are being rounded up but ICE is stretched to the breaking point.

Meanwhile our government, Dems & GOP establishment, can’t get ICE increases passed, block the President at every turn.

Don’t try to blame any of this on POTUS, no one could do more.

He ran on Obama's daca being illegal, and ending it day one. Then he comes in and kicks the illegal can down the road. Now we still have 'them' here. Now he has budget and that around the same time. And the GOP is breathing down his neck about amnesty and such.

Never leave a threat unchallenged. He should have ended it last year and this crap wouldn't be around. Not only that, but several daca stays have killed while Obama and Trump has been in office. Trump ran on the death of Kate Steinle, but he doesn't mention Diana Martinez-Gonzalez, who was killed by a Obama daca under his watch.
