I don't think it's possible to get rid of Assad now that Russia got involved. That ship has sailed and I don't think Trump has said that. I'm not advocating we continue offensive operations against ISIS. If all that is left is mop up operations, fine someone else can do that. However, we need troops there to prevent a future outbreak much like what happened here in the first place. We leave and our Kurdish allies will most likely get wiped out. What kind of message does that send to our allies around the world, you can't depend on the U.S.
