Manmade climate change is now dwarfing the influence of natural trends on the climate, scientists say.
The acting director of the UK Met Office, Prof Peter Stott, told BBC News: "It's extraordinary that temperatures in 2017 have been so high when there's no El Niño. In fact, we’ve been going into cooler La Niña conditions.
"Last year was substantially warmer than 1998 which had a very big El Niño.
"It shows clearly that the biggest natural influence on the climate is being dwarfed by human activities – predominantly CO2; emissions."
“The record temperature should focus the minds of world leaders, including President Trump, on the scale and urgency of the risks that people, rich and poor, face around the world from climate change," he said.
Prof Richard Allan from the University of Reading said: “Rather than warming being inconsequential or catastrophic, as some have suggested, we can be sure societies are facing a dangerous temperature rise, but one which we still have time to fix.
“The conclusions confirm that human-caused climate change is a serious concern.
“But if we act now with sustained and substantial cuts in greenhouse gas emissions, societies will still be able to avoid much of the most dangerous climate change predicted by computer simulations.”

Yeah, that tiny little sun does nothing.
Global warming, who ever causes it, will delay the next onset of ice age by a few years. Which means millions of people will perish later than earlier.
We need to nail down these liberals on a drop dead date that there is nothing humans can do past, to save our selves. I will be happy when that day arrives, because after that we get to execute all the weathers scientists that were wrong.
Oh, Lawddy.... It’s even worse than the last time we said it was worse than we thought.
BUT, if we can all quit using energy AND give all our money to poor countries so they don’t have to use energy, we MIGHT be able to protect the poor and the children from the worst of it. Governments needs to make all energy illegal immediately and confiscate all wages, but only in the USA and Europe, not Asia and not the Middle East. And not Russia. But everyone else.

Note that there still is NO definite scientific proof that CO2 is responsible for changing temperatures (or even harmful),
and NO definite scientific proof that human-produced CO2 is mainly responsible.
Yeah it might have been warm last year .... so what? That could be natural climate variations.
Still NO proven link to CO2 or humans, just hysterical media that keeps trying to pretend the link exists

I live in Upstate New York and am buying up any available Lake Ontario waterfront property in anticipation of the Winter influx of “snow birds” seeking warm temperatures and sunny skies.

And that is that...
If the global warming scaremongers were to go away, there would be no “global warming”.
There is something up there in the sky, behind the clouds? Who knew! Never look up - there’s nothing to see there, keep you head down and your eyes firmly fixed on your navel, or your portable electronic device whichever.
