Freepers are going to laugh or worse, but New York City is ideal for a certain kind of retiree. You know all the cultural benefits—you’ll never, ever run out of things to do, even free things to do. The public transportation is excellent (current problems with the subway excluded). You can walk to a lot of things, because New York is more 3-dimensional than other cities.

And there are an enormous number and variety of programs for the elderly, anything your little heart desires, from excellent city-run programs to small church community groups. Our Department of the Aging is the gateway to a fabulous collection of services.

OK, go ahead and shoot.

Your point about the good things related to NYC emphasizes something this whole thread reveals — we live in a great nation with many, many wonderful places to live.

I got to travel a lot in my work as well as take some vacations. I have to say there are places in all 45 states that I have visited that would be just fine to live the rest of my life in and enjoy myself. Sure, there are drawbacks to coastal Maine in the winter but have you seen it in the summer? Just WOW. I think the Boston Mountains in Arkansas can make me forget Hope’s most well known son. It goes on and on.

We don’t live in a crappy country and why would Democrats in government attempt to force migrants from poor countries down our throats just to change the make-up of regions for self confessed political gain? What scum they are — not the refugee, the Democrats bringing it about — scum, trying to hurt all these untold regions.
