Come on down to the Texas Hill Country. We only have two seasons (summer and not summer), but you will never have to shovel snow again.
Actually we do have winter, just for never more than a day or so at a time. Yesterday it was sunny and in the 60s. Tomorrow it is not supposed to get above the mid-20s with possible sleet or snow. By this weekend it will be back in the 60s again.
It has already snowed here-a few inches in December, then a few flurries a couple weeks ago-and snow/frozen mix predicted tomorrow, low in the mid 20’s tomorrow night-but no shoveling snow-a good thing.
Being Hispanic/Latino, I was taught at home as a child to speak Spanish as a 2nd language-but most people out here do, no matter their ethnicity because tourists from Northern Mexico come up here, buy stuff and rent cabins year round-it is a huge part of the economy, along with the Snowbirds from up North and Canada.
This area is pretty evenly divided Anglo/Latino, mostly mixed, dark and light, hair and eyes of all colors, and all Caucasians-only surnames are any indicators of ethnicity. The Black families around here are not ethnic Latinos-but most are native Texans.
Live west of Austin in the Hill Country and you’re close to very good health care, and less than four hours away from world-class health care in Houston. Pretty country and lakes as well, and still-reasonable real estate costs. No state income taxes, but property taxes are high.
