Their parents allowed them to be in a place with an adult male who could easily take liberties.
If I’m one those girl’s father, there’s no way in hell I’d give them permission to go anywhere with an adult male.

I have a question: How could two of the most attractive people in Hollywood (Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh) combine to make JLC? Was she switched at birth? Did anyone even SEE Houdini?
Yup, this sums it up perfectly.
I’m surprised the dam is breaking now, not so long after Roman Polanski was given a pass by Hollywood (with some even demanding a presidential pardon) for drugging and raping a child. I guess if you sexually assault people who don’t stay in Hollywood it’s OK, but it’s a problem if they stay in show business.

I cannot say if Jamie Lee Curtis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Arnold or James Cameron knew this was going on or not. I can say that filming a movie, especially a major motion picture isn’t anything like what most people think it is like.
It is not as if the all the major actors are all hanging out together, all eating their meals together, watching each other’s scenes being filmed. Typically, if on a location they film their scenes, sometimes multiple takes and reshoots and go back to their own private trailers in between. There is a lot of waiting around. And there are literally hundreds of people around, the sound, lighting, costume and make up folks, extras….
If they are filming a scene with only 1 or 2 of the principals, the other actors aren’t hanging around and might not even be anywhere near the location shoot if they aren’t in it. That and scenes are typically filmed out of sequence.
I was working in mid-town Baltimore and one day the police started blocking off some streets surrounding our building and for several blocks all around and putting up no parking signs on the side streets. Then over the course of the next couple of days, all these tractor trailer trucks started arriving and parking all around our block and I mean probably near 50 of them, then I watched them unload what looked like miles of cables and mikes, and lights and all sorts of other equipment, saw a tractor trailer full of police uniforms and other clothing for the film, and I also saw a bunch of big travel trailers and then catering trucks and then all security people with their golf carts.
We didn’t know what was going on at first but it turned out that a couple of buildings down from my building, they were filming a scene for the movie “Enemy of the State” – the Will Smith - Gene Hackman movie. This went on for several more days and I remember that every time Will Smith came out of his trailer, I could hear a bunch of girls screaming even from my 6th floor office.
I have to say that while I wasn’t interested in meeting any movie stars (although some people I worked with saw Hackman at the deli up the street buying his own lunch and said he was a super cool and down to earth guy), I was rather fascinated by watching the process. I later learned that the over a week of activity was to film a scene with Smith & Hackman that in the movie was only about 4 minutes long in the final film. Then it was over and they all left to go to the next location.
At the very same time, I read that another unit of the film crew and an assistant direct were filming some scenes, I think in Annapolis with John Voight and some of other actors without Smith & Hackman.
Less than a year later I got another glimpse of a major motion picture when Barry Levinson was filming a scene at the Church across the street from my office building for “Liberty Heights” and was the same, lots of trailers, lots of people and lots of time for a relatively short scene.
It has been a long time since I’ve seen the movie True Lies, but to be honest, I don’t even remember their even being a kid in it, I don’t think she was in a lot of scenes.
My point is not to say that Jamie Lee Curtis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Arnold or James Cameron or others were unaware that this then 12-year-old girl was being molested, if they were and didn’t do anything about it, shame on them!
But I can also understand how they, and certainly not everyone might not have been given how movies are filmed. For instance, if Tom Arnold wasn’t in any scenes with Eliza Dushku, he might not have ever even met her or only in passing.
I just wanted to give some prospective.

In fact, maybe all of America should “take some responsibility” for allowing Hollywood and the media to become so influential and powerful over the last 100 years. If it weren’t such a money grab, people wouldn’t sell their souls to get in. I for one am sorry that I ever supported them in any way with my money.
