This is what you get for treating a Democrat with respect, invite him to the White House, include him in the highest-level policy meeting, sit him right next to you in the most honored place at the table, give him time to express his views and listen respectfully to all his colleagues.
He feeds your off-record comments to the media, lies about what you said and then stabs you in the back when you deny making the remarks. There is no worse character of politician than today’s Democrats. I can’t think of one among all of them today on the national scene who has a shred of honor or decency or that can be trusted with any off-record conversation.
Trump should announce a policy that all meetings with Democrats will from now on be held on camera and/or recorded because they can’t be trusted. I hope he uses this example to announce such a policy.
You would think after all that has been thrown at him by the Dems that Trump would realize that they are not his friends and there are no ‘deals’ to be made with them.
Trump should instead work on getting more die hard Republicans elected in the mid terms so the Dems can be cut out completely. That’s what Obama did. Didn’t see him making any deals. His Democrats locked doors so that Republicans couldn’t even get in to voice their opinion.
That should be SOP for any meeting with the other side or their press lackeys. Glenn Reynolds (Instapundit) is always advising people to record any meetings with the press. The very fact that they know they are being recorded will sometimes keep them from trying to pull their outrageous stunts.
