I can’t find a list of closures......................
One article earlier said 70 something.
Now it’s reported to be over 200 stores.
Either may be true, but they can’t both be.

Costco is owning this niche.
We were supposed to get a Costco here in Destin a couple of years ago. There was ballyhoo all on the TV news and local papers, but it never happened. I don’t know why......................
Mobile’s Costco is the closets to Destin. A bit far......................
Yep, the one near us just closed today apparently. Why the big secret closings??? No word on membership refunds.
You’ll still be able to shop online and in other places.....................
The problem with Sam’s Club is their bakery is horrible. Just blech. Where as, Costco is pretty good.
The only club that’s ever been willing to have me as a member.
Walmart’s Price Chopping got out of control, now they’re chopping themselves?
There was a time we had memberships to both Sam's and Costco. It is easy to see why Sam's is scaling back. In my personal opinion Costco executes on a far higher level than Sam's -- night and day.
Similarly, it's somewhat amazing how Walmart remains a juggernaut. For such a large chain, and after all these decades of operation, their supply chain STILL is substandard. I cannot believe how many times I have gone into a Walmart to look for a national product they routinely stock only to find they are completely out... and for weeks at a time! National brands, not some obscure off-brand item.
So, it's not hard at all to understand how Costco is cleaning their clock. Not a fan of Costco's liberal leadership, but either you can run a store efficiently, or you run your stores in a slipshod supply manner.

Wal-mart stores were much better ran when Sam Walton was still alive. Now his kids are running it into the ground......................
