But their hypocrisy knows no bounds.
Yes drill & now drill everywhere. I wish I lived over some nice crude.
FINALLY a Republican administration that plays hard ball.
Watching the local Miami media TV “news” you can see HOW MUCH they hate Trump and Rick Scott.
I saw multiple reports on the issue in Miami. EVERY TIME the oil drilling decision was talked about, the blatant insinuation is that the ONLY reason for the announcement was political. Bill Nelson the Demon Rat senator who wanted to stop the drilling negotiations started WHINING when the policy decision he WANTED was decided on his favor. Nelson the whiner said it was ONLY done to help Scott.
Remember when Reagan said he didn’t care who got the credit as long as the agenda was won? Bill Nelson isn’t that mature.
For the record, I wish we WOULD drill. I disagree with the Interior Department.
Cuba is drilling anyway, not that far from Florida if there is a spill.
I think that if you let Florida out, then other states can legally argue that they should be let out, too.
Pretty much right. Just like Alaska. I do think Congress has some authority on the high seas, etc. But at or near the state (is it a 3 mile boundary?) the state ought to choose.
I was just trying to make a silly joke...pullleeeezzzze.
“I was just trying to make a silly joke...pullleeeezzzze.”
I know. It was funny.
It’s a long haul for support of off-shore operations, if one rules out obtaining operations bases at ports along Florida’s coastline. In contrast, off of Louisiana, there were so many boats under charter, as to allow multiple boats to support a rig that developed critical needs. If one’s support bases are among The Bahamas, logistics for the southern half of Florida are say more tenable than if based out of Georgia or existing Gulf of Mexico oil-patch states.
In 1991 Port O’Conner, Texas hosted U.S. based logistics for American rigs operating in Bay of Campeche, via customs at port of Frontera, Tobasco MX. Multiple U.S. flagged OSV shuttled between the two locations for over a year. That’s a really long haul for drilling materials and equipment. Eventually sourced some iffy materials from Dos Bocas due to operational demands.
