Yep. Where others might see a crisis, Al Gore has spotted a Rahm-Emanuel-style opportunity to promote his renewables scam. This bitter cold, he wants you to know, isn’t a sign that his global warming theory is a busted flush. It’s a sign that he’s even more right than ever before!

Well, you’ve got to admire his chutzpah.

This article got me thinking about the Maunder (Sunspot) Minimum that we're entering. The really smart people at the Grauniad tell us that the Maunder Minimum will not mitigate AGP. Their best guess? 0.09°C and 0.26°C lowering of temps

Let's apply some simple arithmetic.

• Temperature of Earth if no Sun = −273.15 C
• Current temp of Earth, with Sun, approx +10 C
• ALL of our heat comes from the Sun (excepting algore's digestive tract)
• Therefore current sun heating effect is +283.15 C
• Maunder Minimum reduces output 0.25% (yeah, right!)
• Therefore Maunder cooling effect = 0.25% x 283.15 C = 0.707785 C

  Which is at least 250% of what the experts tell us will happen. And that's with only a 0.25% reduction in the Sun's output.

  Do these idjits really think that my SUV and F150 are providing a nice cozy blanket with some huge R-rating around this planet to keep that nice heat here?
