Key House conservatives say it's time for Sessions to go
The Hill ^ | 4 Jan 2018 | Julia Manchester

Conservative Republican Reps. Mark Meadows (N.C.) and Jim Jordan (Ohio) are calling on Attorney General Jeff Sessions to step down, citing recent leaks from the Justice Department and FBI.

"If Sessions can't address this issue immediately, then we have one final question needing an answer: When is it time for a new attorney general?" the two GOP lawmakers asked in an op-ed for The Washington Examiner.

"Sadly, it seems the answer is now," they continued.

"It would appear he has no control at all of the premier law enforcement agency in the world."

The lawmakers went on to cite a New York Times story, published last week, that referenced intelligence community sources as saying a meeting between former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos and an Australian diplomat kickstarted special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow.

Republicans have long argued the unverified dossier compiled by former MI-6 agent Christopher Steele led to the probe.

President Trump and Republicans have said the probe is politically motivated.

Meadows and Jordan, the chairman and former chairman, respectively, of the conservative Freedom Caucus, have been two of the more vocal Republican voices to criticize special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russian election meddling.

Sessions just appointed 17 prosecutors yesterday by executive order. Cut him some slack. All this sky is falling crap is getting old. It takes time to build cases, especially against a forty year old cabal like the witch and bubba have built.

One thing does bother me though. Trumps executive order on dec 21. States there would be no prior notice of asset seizure for persons involved in corruption or human trafficking. Well signing an E.O. that is public seems to me is telegraphing the notice. Now we have house fires in Chappaqua and Brannon/Trump public mud slinging. What in hell is going on?

One thing is for damn sure the government will never tell the American taxpayers the truth about anything.

“No way they would have let him become AG if they didn’t know in advance he would recuse on the election stuff.”

Trump did not know in advance that Sessions would recuse himself. Trump said that if he had known, he would not have offered him the job.

Rosenstein is, in effect, the AG right now due to Sessions’ recusal.

I’m feeling generous in the New Year. I’ll give him six more months to bring indictments on the Obama/Clinton cabal. If none by then, he’s out.

“I expect AG Sessions to throw out a little chicken feed(small acts involving little people and no Democrats).”

FNC report this morning that Sessions will be making an announcement today regarding rolling back of Obama’s marijuana enforcement policy.

Only on election-related issues. Do you want to expand Rosenstein’s jurisdiction to include the whole department?

Sessions has been a disaster as AG and the Senate seat he left. Perhaps he can get his senate seat back when they catch Doug Jones having an unevenly sliced pizza with an underage boy.

Did you all see that Sessions just rescinded Obama’s order prohibiting prosecution of marijuana sellers? This is going to be a problem for Cali, which apparently believes it’s going to make its living on pot production once all the real businesses have bailed on it because of its anti-business, high-taxation policies. Also a problem for Colorado, a conservative state dominated by liberal politicians and universities.

I was there a couple of years ago and a woman I met - actually, somebody who worked in one of the spas, just a normal human being, in other words - told me she was pulling her (middle and high-school aged) kids out of public school because now the first thing kids did when they got to school was light up a joint. Supposedly in CO, it was only for “medical use,” but after Obama’s order, informal sales were no longer penalized and obviously school authorities felt they had no way to stop this.

The collective IQ of Colorado students will probably rise by about 20 points after Sessions’ order goes through.

Rosenweasel becomes AG if Sessions resigns

Excellent observation, but Rosenweasel has been de facto AG from the start when Sessions recused himself and decided to take the year off - WITH pay! He could resign, effective "when his replacement has been confirmed" to avoid Rosenweasel becoming "acting AG".

Trump put a legislator in a job meant for an executive.

All cabinet posts should be staffed with people with executive skill.

“Sessions is our best hope as AG. He’s been doing a decent job lately, this is why he’s being attacked.”

You must have had that morning bong hit early today. Sessions “best hope” each day is that he can successfully take his morning $hit and tie his shoes. When I read stuff like you’ve written, I worry all over again that there are too many sheep in this country on the Right to fix our country.

Sessions has had more than enough time to show us what he’s made of. Another six months is one eighth of Trump’s first term. That wait is unacceptable. When you look at some of Trump’s really excellent appointments, Sessions abject failure as AG stands out like a turd in the punchbowl.

“Being a Senator means you are basically USELESS for any other job on the planet.”

Yes, if the US Senate were disbanded today, the country would have gotten rid of it’s number one impediment to getting anything done. Number two would be the Supreme Court, #3 would be the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

worrying about his Democrat buddies and liberal media liking him than doing anything of substance.

One of the things Trump is showing is that when you allow them to hate you, we can all have a whale of a good time and still get stuff done.
