Michael Wolff has tapes to back up quotes in his incendiary book — dozens of hours of them.
Among the sources he taped, I'm told, are Bannon and former White House deputy chief of staff Katie Walsh.
So that's going to make it harder for officials to deny embarrassing or revealing quotes attributed to them in "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House," out Tuesday.
In some cases, the officials thought they were talking off the record. But what are they going to do now?
Although the White House yesterday portrayed Wolff as a poseur, he spent hours at a time in private areas of the West Wing, including the office of Reince Priebus when he was chief of staff.
The White House says Wolff was cleared for access to the West Wing fewer than 20 times.
Wolff, a New Yorker, stayed at the Hay Adams Hotel when he came down to D.C., and White House sources frequently crossed Lafayette Park to meet him there.

Some reporters and officials are calling the book sloppy, and challenging specific passages.
How could Wolff possibly know for sure what Steve Bannon and the late Roger Ailes said at a private dinner? It turns out Wolff hosted the dinner for six at his Manhattan townhouse.

He was brought in because apparently Steve trusted him & perhaps Ailes and Murdoch trusted him too. It's still a mistake to bring a journalist in to a White House with unfettered access. It appears business was being done and/or the President was being trashed in front of a journalist writing a book! Then it seems that people from the White House apparently did interviews with him, and it seems in them they leaked and/or trashed Trump. This is a journalist writing a book about the White House. He's a mainstream media journalist with a controversial record per his Wiki page - why was he trusted? This was a big mistake. I think Bannon played a huge roll in this. If this article is true and tapes come out, the media will have a field day.
I had a Freeper tell me I was "his enemy" because I criticized Bannon's handling of the Alabama Senate race.
Enough of this.
I have been critical of Trump's tax bill, but other than that I love the man. Now Trump is being mired in yet another needless distraction.
So far, Bannon hasn’t denied a thing he is being quoted as saying in Wolff’s book. And, I agree, so far it sounds as if Bannon was Wolff’s primary contact within the Trump Administration.
I figured he had to have something when the response from the White House was to attack Bannon rather than claim it was fake news.
President Trump erases the Obamacare forced mandate nonsense and then this foolishness comes out. Bannon, what a bafoon. The dems were offering 500 grand to women to give dirt on Trump, so I’m wondering if Nutty Bannon got a payday. Loser. Go learn how to use makeup you hobo.
The end game of all things anti Trump is impeachment.

Some “expert” on Tucker last night was claiming that Bannon represented Trump’s base and to attack him would weaken Trump. This is complete fantasy.

Interesting timing, just as Wray and Rosenstein agree to turn over the FBI dossier files voluntarily to Nunes. The rank stupidity of Bannon and the other White House staff who talked to this leftist reporter and gave him access appalls me.

His ego is what needed to be fed so he's getting what he wanted out of it. Drudge called him schizophrenic yesterday and that may be technically accurate too, based on his statements in the late afternoon. Hopefully Trump's lawsuit over his confidentiality agreements put him out of his misery, but since he feeds on controversy probably not.

Trump is trying to MAGA, while Bannon is providing distractions along with fodder for the Trump-haters. Very simple.
