Tax cuts. Deregulation. More for the military; less for the United Nations. The Islamic State crushed in its heartland. Assad hit with cruise missiles. Troops to Afghanistan. Arms for Ukraine. A tougher approach to North Korea. Jerusalem recognized as Israel’s capital. The Iran deal decertified. Title IX kangaroo courts on campus condemned. Yes to Keystone. No to Paris. Wall Street roaring and consumer confidence high.
And, of course, Neil Gorsuch on the Supreme Court. What, for a conservative, is there to dislike about this policy record as the Trump administration rounds out its first year in office?
That’s the question I keep hearing from old friends on the right who voted with misgiving for Donald Trump last year and now find reasons to like him. I admit it gives me pause. I agree with every one of the policy decisions mentioned above. But I still wish Hillary Clinton were president.
How does that make sense? Can I still call myself conservative?

Reading the comments at the link (and am sorry for it) it appears his conclusion is this:
I wish HRC was president because she sounded more presidential (even though she lied with every syllable). Never mind the fact that I don’t agree with any of her policies and nearly all of Trump’s policies. I’m going to ignore her legendary corruption because I am offended by Trump’s pure candor, rough as it may be. Style over substance. Bullsh*t over results.
I’m going to ignore the fact that patriotic nationalism is taking over across the globe - Trumpism !- once the people realized that it COULD BE DONE, taking over these corrupt nations.
I’m willing to toss out the future of the entire nation so my delicate tendies are not ruffled in any way.

I got to wake up this morning and realized Donald J. Trump is still my president. And I’m thrilled.
My only complaint is Trump is apparently not a social conservative and is easily put off by his subordinates. The wall drags along, cross dressers are still in the military, the swamp is as full as ever with Obama hires still in place hindering Trump’s moves, other items too.
And he’s mad he can’t use knee pads as a business deduction.

Anyone that calls themselves a Conservative and still wishes for Hillary Clinton to be President needs to be on medication or inside a mental institution. Such a person should not exist in a sane mind.
Do these people really think that saying, “I’m a Conservative, which is why I’m voting for Hillary” is going to convince ANYONE??? The thing is, they do. They really believe we’re all THAT stupid. The only way one can believe it’d be effective is to also be so arrogant that they believe they’re so much smarter than the rest of us. They never, for one second, think that they could be wrong about anything. Pure hubris.
Peggy Noonan is a dried out old twit, loosely spelled, but during the campaign she recognized and understood Trump’s message and appeal.
She was the only one of her rather “special” set that saw what was coming, and tried (even on MSNBC) to explain it to the fancy people.
Lately she has descended into the mournful chorus of critics, but maybe she’ll come round again.
