In New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District, Republican incumbent U.S. Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen has an approval rating of 28%, and 54% disapprove of his job performance. according to a Public Policy Polling Memo.

President Donald J. Trump has an approval rating of 40% and a disapproval rating of 56% in Frelinghuysen’s district. Speaker Paul Ryan is also unpopular with 26% of voters saying they approve of the job he is doing and a majority (63%) responding that they disapprove. These percentages, along with a hypothetical matchup between Frelinghuysen (40%) and a “Democratic opponent” (49%), indicate that Frelinghuysen is quite vulnerable in his upcoming re-election.

Pres Trump at a 40% app rating in NJ11? That’s noticeably higher than what CNN claims.

Yeah, ok. Can’t understand why a blue state Republican would be unpopular right about now.

He was a pretty reliable Pub vote, would be a shame if he loses.

NJ 11 is a affluent suburban educated area. It’s Christie Country.

I'm in NJ-11.

I approve of Trump; and I disapprove of Frelinghuysen.

I've been voting for the DEMOCRAT in the past several general elections. Frelinghuysen is the quintessential RINO. He needs to be defeated; by a Democrat if necessary. After two years it will be easy to dispose of the Democrat.

” He needs to be defeated; by a Democrat if necessary. After two years it will be easy to dispose of the Democrat.”

A few more folks with your attitude and the RATs will be taking over the House in November. I agree, he needs to go, but not to be replaced by a RAT right now, too much is riding on Trump’s agenda for a turnover anywhere. All it takes is 24 flips and the RATs will be spending the last two years of the Trump Administration trying to impeach him.

Great thinking like yours will lead to a Trump impeachment. Great idea to put Pelosi in charge of the house. Try and run a conservative in the primary.

Nonsense electing democrats to Congress is suicide.

I'm scratching my head here, trying to figure out how the hell this country would be any better with Democrat in the NJ-11 district.

If Frelinghuysen loses, I predict he'll be the last Republican in that district for years.

It’s astonishing how many Freepers seriously overestimate just how conservative their fellow voters are — as if they’re ever going to get a hard-core conservative in a suburban New Jersey district like that. Republican voters are fleeing that area in droves.

NJ-11 voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016.

This is what concerns me the most about the coming year. Texas has already six Republican congressmen who are not running for re-election. Guys who have been around for a long time. The RATs only need 24 turnovers to retake the House, and give us Pelosi again, along with an Impeachment of Trump. And it won’t matter if he’s guilty of anything, they will impeach him. And if they manage to take control of the Senate, they will “convict him” and throw him out of office.. I hate the RINOs, but the enemy of my enemy is my friend where they are concerned.

Impeachment doesn’t bother me. My biggest concern is that Donald Trump will sign almost any bill that Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer put on his desk.

No way. It's solid Republican. And Rodney thinks it's a sinecure. A Democrat would be little worse so long as Republicans maintain the majority.

You mark my words ... if the Democrats control Congress after 2018, the nation’s first universal single-payer health care system will be signed into law by President Trump.

Looks ripe to be primaried. Maybe there is a Trump supporter out there who would clean up. Now would be a great time to stop whining and start looking.

I believe the most vulnerable to a Democrat of those six TX Republicans is Farenthold of Corpus Christi, who pulled out of the race two days too late to have his name removed from the ballot. I would certainly expect to see large Democrat votes from El Paso to Houston and Dallas to San Antonio.
