In a letter sent to season-ticket holders this week, Ravens president Dick Cass acknowledged that the onetime protest by players before the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London has led to an increased number of empty seats and no-shows at the teams home games.
During the playing of the national anthem before that game, a 44-7 loss on Sept. 24, at least a dozen Ravens knelt in protest. The next week at M&T Bank Stadium, the Ravens prayed as a team before the national anthem.

One time my ass!
BOYCOTT THE NFL!!!....FOREVER!!!!!
Well, that was a big oopsie.
American football is a version of Rugby. Rugby in itself is a very rough game, especially that you as a player don't have any armor.
I always fantasized for a game between the NFL best team and Rugby Cup Champions sans armor. Still waiting for that match.
As for why they are playing in London?...it is for show nothing more. Cheer leaders, half time shows and all that drama. Rugby don't have that. How do i know that?...used to play rugby.
Looking for a new audience to replace the one they figuratively said F U to.
Just go away.
University of Southern California quarterback Pat Haden went to Oxford University to do graduate work and was invited to join a rugby team. He declined, saying, "I love my body too much."
Well, alone that statement, tells you a lot and thank you for pointing that out. As an European transplant( US citizen to boot), I can tell you, that what it passes for sports in the US is not the case.
What we have here in the U.S.A is a "SHOW" no matter what, whether is NBA,NFL,NHL etc. Sell, sell, sell sportsmanship be damned.
In Germany (at least when I was growing up) sports were taken very seriously and I believe they still do observe the sportsmanship etiquette.
In the mid-1980's, I was visiting a friend in Germany and we got to talking about soccer. I asked him if there were riots at soccer games and he said there weren't because, "wir sind keine Engländer" (we're not Englishmen).
Merry Christmas
