"VA illegally hiring doctors with revoked licenses" masks another problem which is; "VA legally hiring doctors who aren't particularly good."
It would be better and probably cheaper to give vets carte blanche private healthcare.

“Shocker”, eh? For the US military, this has been SOP for decades. It’s one of the reasons that I got out of the Navy and have nothing to do with the VA to this day. I can’t trust them to not kill me through ignorance or malpractice.

I knew of an occupational therapist who had been fired twice and then hired by the VA. I was astounded.
