You got that right. I live and represent Northwest AZ. Southern AZ is coming after our Colorado River allocations with big money. We are fighting it all the way.

How many times before you got involved in the county some of us went and talked to the people around Kingman to start digging collection ponds to catch the run off from the monsoons.
The ignorance is unreal as they felt that it costs to much. Try and explain to these good ol boys that the water under that ground isnt going to last. NOOOO! We aint gonna do it! It costs to much! And all the GD stupid excuses you could imagine.
95% of that water from those monsoons evaporate-left to go right back up into the thin air.
Take for example the Sacramento Wash here in GV. Dig a couple collection ponds DEEP and narrow and let gravity do its job and run that water into special tanks to be filtered. Or simply line the ponds and let it stand to filter into the ground.

NOPE! cant do that! Thats to darn easy. GD government money grubbing bastards they were.

Gimme a excavator and I would show them how to do it. But they cant have someone outsider doing that can they?

You got the honor of fighting for water rights they took for granted.

In a few years, this valley runs out of water if they allow more settlement.

Now you got me going again.

Take a ride to Kingman and up towards Rancho Santa Fe-east of H’ Mtn Road-near the LDS church there is a collection pool-I have personally seen that pool over 1/4 full as the kids got out and plugged off the outlet with plywood. They about had a fit and got down there and pulled the plywood out. WHY? Let it sit and soak in.

Funny as hell, those kids were swimming and having a grand time in there.

Why in the hell cant they make those pools all over the hillsides in those washes and let gravity feed that water to tanks where it can be filtered and stored? They dont even need pumps for the love of Pete.
Now you try and explain that to these geeks. We did, and all we got was the usual dumb look and a bag full of excuses.
