Souls were sold to make Obama king.

FreeRepublic did a journeyman job of compounding that error by accepting 4 more ineligible candidates.

I’d say pay attention on who’s names starts appearing in hatchet job stories. If someone rolled on the plot or the actions of the Comey-Mueller tag team, Schiff and his pals will start smearing them thru leaks.

I don’t know how he can survive. I mean, we now have pretty solid evidence that, while working as an FBI leader, he held a meeting IN HIS OFFICE where he discussed stopping a candidate for political office from winning, and then received e-mails about plans for more aggressive action as “insurance” from other people who reported to him.

The sending of official e-mail talking about hwo to stop a candidate from office would clearly be a violation, using government resources for politics. That he didn’t report his subordinate shows he was involved. That he held meetings in his office shows that there was a conspiracy.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

that’s just the conspiracy to stop trump.

imo, the same cast of characters also conspired to stop bernie from getting the demo nomination to run for president.

kinda like trump said months ago: “it’s rigged”

The number of “Nothing Will Come of This” posts on this thread and threads like this one just amazes me. As if Congress should be out arresting and jailing people instead of just grilling Skunk McCabe for nearly 8 hours. Boring comments. Not helpful. I skip over them.

I agree. It's the DOJ who prosecutes.

Not that Congress isn't without some fault. They could insist on all open hearings and issue arrest warrants for non compliance. But the committees I believe would need to have Ryan call a vote of the House, for that to happen.

The bottom line is that the Nunes committee and the Goodlatte committee are doing a good job and it's the DOJ that needs to wake up and prosecute.

Thanks for your insult that I do not know about government. Halderman, Erlichman, Dean, Mitchell and others went to prison for Watergate. I listened to those committee hearings religiously. This is far more serious than Watergate.

Insulting you was uncalled for, and I apologize for saying that. I am frustrated by so many people jumping on the "insult Gowdy" bandwagon, failing to understand that he has been doing as much as the Constitution allows him to do. But please forgive me for attacking you personally.

You are right about this being more serious than Watergate. It is far more serious, and more threatening than most of us would even dream. Trump knew all of this going in, knew what he was getting into, and chose his people accordingly. The Swamp was so sure it was going to win...

Look into what DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz has been doing and you should feel better.

No, not at all. Horowitz is an Obama appointee. He is best known as the IG who whitewashed Fast and Furious.

Horowitz only produced the text messages after the House committee's subpoenaed them.

Qiviut’s post worth bumping here:

Some further “enlightening” reading about Mr. McCabe, if you’re interested ..... what’s been allowed to go on where McCabe is concerned is rather scary stuff. I doubt if he was questioned much on this yesterday, but with all he’s been into, he should be looking VERY ashen.

Agreed, except that DOJ has not been asleep. Its IG has been busy gathering evidence while the conspirators have smugly gone about their seditious plotting unawares. It was important for them to keep their jobs and believe that the attorney general was asleep. Trump reads Sun Tzu.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENT?

Fish or cut bait, would be nice. If Sessions won't issue an indictment then come to the media or House floor and trash his lazy azz.

Oops. I should have answered your question.

But your response infers some sort of short timeline for action by THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT. The last time I checked DOJ was not part of Congress.

I have been saying Sessions is a Trojan horse for months, and I firmly believe that more than ever. No ethical, honest AG would do what Sessions has done and continues to do in the face of such lawlessness in his own department and that of the “special” counsel who supposedly reports up to Sessions’ deputy.

Counting on the AG is as fruitless as counting on Mueller in my opinion. The IG stall was invented by these two.

I don't comment on open investigations
and everything is under investigation.

This is what worries me the most about all of this. If this IG report comes out and he tries to whitewash all of this BS, then what?

Just kidding about my question.

How I wish there was an automatic mechanism where evidence gathered at a congressional hearing would trigger further investigation leading to a Grand Jury and indictment but sadly there never seems to be any action regardless.

I am tired of the only thing coming from these hearings are sound bites. I have pinned my hopes on those who make a living bloviating, huffing and puffing with faux outrage while never seeming to come to any conclusion.

And now we have people just blowing off congressional hearings with no consequences? There is a reason for that and it is that no one takes these hearings very seriously.

They make fools of us all and dutifully we show up at the polls to re-elect them because the party is much too awful.

Flynn and Manafort did not get the opportunity to “revise and extend” their remarks.
