New Jersey's infant mortality gap is the nation's largest (Racism is one of the causes)
But, what a load of malarkey!!! How about: poor nutrition, smoking, alcohol and drug abuse, poor living conditions (mice, rats and roaches, not breast feeding, little attention, lead poisoning, lack of mother-child bonding, no father and living in filth and squalor..and so on.
“We must understand the long legacy of racism in this country that continues to perpetuate many of the adverse conditions that we see,” Denise Rodgers, vice chancellor of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School said at a conference earlier this year. “I will never again talk about health disparities without talking about racism. If I don’t talk about racism, it’s too easy to blame the victim.”
I wonder how infant mortality stats would look if no woman did drugs or drank too much and all lived in a household where at least one person worked for a living.
It will only get worse as a sanctuary state.
It sounds like an awful lot of work to improve infant survival rates in the minority communities. Wouldn’t it be much simpler and more cost effective to just kill some white babies, to make up the difference?

Interesting that the study corrected for income and education level of the mother, but I see no mention of marital status. I suspect that there might be a strong correlation.

As my grandchildren were born in the area, I can say that the problem is not racism.
You see, poverty leads to high infant mortality. Upstream from poverty are: lack of high school education, bearing children before age 20, and bearing children without a husband. So New Jersey is no different than the other 49 states on the poverty side.
However, New Jersey has one of the wealthiest group of persons in any state. All that New York and Philly money likes semi rural NJ and for them the infant mortality is the other extreme, virtually non-existent.
That’s why NJ leads the nation.
Racism as a cause is a smokescreen, to hide the need for personal responsibility.

IOW, without the smokescreen of crying "RACISIM!", the correct answer is that the 'victim' is at fault.

It is conveniently omitted that educated Americans have been fleeing NJ for decades at this point, and the imported replacements from south of the border are often illiterate IN SPANISH. Now we have our Dem governor-elect pushing to traffic Puerto Ricans here (those impacted by the storm damage there). They are Americans, but they are being trafficked to replace our disappearing middle and upper classes (to keep our government worker caste employed); they certainly won’t turn around any infant mortality problem.
FWIW, this is what most other states can expect - not in 50 years, but in less than a dozen as the impact of years of a negative “white” birthrate is felt.
Here in NJ we have passed the point of white oppression, to the next stage of “Third Worldization” - complete abandonment/evacuation. The recent election of a Dem governor who publicly stated that he would raise taxes (in one of the highest-taxed states in the country) was a clear indication that far more people were riding in the wagon than pulling, and these weren’t just illegals - these were VOTERS. Now we have non-whites filling areas evacuated by Americans, and they contribute nothing to the upkeep/maintenance; the infrastructure crumbles, there is no current revenues for services, and whole neighborhoods are starting to resemble the places the ancestors of the current “replacement Americans” left years ago.
NYS has been losing taxpayers and House seats for decades. Same reasons.
That’s right, and if you go through some of the former “white” areas upstate you’ll see a lot of the problems we have here, for the same reasons. Primarily, because there is no longer a viable tax base (of individuals or companies), but unemployable people are moved in to keep the public schools open (and teachers paid).
