It easnt a “ tax refund”
It was a bigger check to people who dont pay taxes
Thanks to this bill almost 50% of all Americans owe NO federal tax
And most of them will vote democrat no matter what pos candidate is on the ticket

The Republican Congress is to be congratulated on the business tax reformation.

On the personal income tax side, color me unimpressed. This “reform” only reinforces that at the national level, there is no real difference in tax policy between the two parties, it is only a matter of degree.

A graduated income tax is straight from the Communist Manifesto; all the Republicans did was tweak the brackets and the bracket rates, keeping the pernicious central concept intact. They also increased the person exemptions, meaning more people will pay no tax while still voting on how much the upper brackets will pay; this is immoral because it violates the concept of equal treatment under the law.

I could go on; real reform will be a flat tax where everyone pays at the same rate. When everyone has to reach onto their pocket and pay the same amount on each buck they earn, then you will see the Fed govt. rapidly shrink to its rightful and sustainable size.

It would add some clarity if we stopped separating payroll tax from income tax. They are not taxes on income, and the government pools the money. "Payroll tax" is a government lie to make people think there is some sort of savings fund.

Regardless, while I agree that another giveaway to people who pay no taxes is a problem, at least that number is is closer to 20% than 50%.
