U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions said on Friday the Justice Department "will take seriously concerns that have been expressed" about bias within the Federal Bureau of Investigation, but defended the agency against suggestions it was dysfunctional.

Time has already told. The evidence is out there, but rather than prosecuting the clearly guilty, the political class is giving itself a pass again and taking low level bureaucrats along for the ride.
Sessions will do nothing because that is all he has ever done.
I see you are really on top of all this.
The ovation was from LEOs from all over the country and their families. The LEOs were sent by their agencies to attend an eleven week course at the FBI Academy in Quantico VA. Their graduation from that Academy was today.
Sure, I'll have a crack.
Yeah right. You're really up on all of this. NOT!
Horsepiss. If people have committed crimes, arrest and detain them. I don’t care who they are.
This nonsense about some seekrit game that’s too sensitive to reveal yet, is just that: nonsense.
“Sessions belongs over at Homeland Security. The DOJ has proven to be an awful fit for him. His forte was always border security.”
If sessions is so good on border security and illegal immigration, why isn’t he prosecuting leftist pols and officials in California for harboring illegal aliens?
That was an oddly worded statement with an interesting qualification if read a certain way. I understand and am verging upon sharing frustrations with Sessions but I think I’m going to sit tight on that for a little while longer.
Jeff ain't head of the complaints department. His job is to ferret out misdeeds amongst his staff and take corrective action so that the folks in charge of law enforcement are upright citizens serving the public interest, without bias.
This "we are sorry for your experience which was not up to the standards we would like to maintain. We would be happy to exchange your blinds for a different color" approach to running an agency is for the birds. He is not trying to conciliate an irate customer. His job is to keep his boss happy, and this time is boss is us through the President of the United States.
There is so much evidence that proves the FBI is not only biased as hell. It’s also corrupt.
If Attorney General Sessions doesn’t see that he should be fired until an unbiased Attorney General can get in there and Clean Up the FBI once and for all.
And most of those folks are tearing their hair out at palliative statements like that. Like any dysfunctional organization the good guys want the rotten apples tossed out. They don't want anodyne statements like "we are a group of civic minded professionals who..." They want action and they want it now, not Christmas next.
Now there is a mountain of evidence against FBI/Justice Department collusion against Trump and Sessions can see no reason to believe it, much less actually do something about it.
GREAT job contrasting Sessions' hypocrisy there.
A decent man would have resigned, better yet a decent man would never have taken the job in the first place. What we have here is a totally selfish, corrupt individual who has put his desire to be AG above the well-being of this nation.
Every bad thing that has happened to President Trump’s administration can be directly traced to that rotten creature Sessions.
“Straw Man argument.”
I’m not sure what you mean. Trump was speaking at the FBI academy. Regardless, Trump likes cops and law enforcement. Always has, it is a common stump message. But he hates corrupt bureau-crats. Always has, again common stump theme.
If I made it poorly above, I apologize, but the point is that he is able to admire and thank the bulk of the enforcers and still rip into their top, mostly political appointee, hierarchy.
Sessions is certainly talented and capable enough to be successful anywhere. But his experiences include being US Attorney, AG of AL, etc. AG is a good fit -vs- DHS, in my less-than-qualified opinion. Anyway, I am not questioning Trump’s current placement of the chess pieces. Either way, if folks think Jeff would be better elsewhere, then that is a criticism of Trump, not Sessions.
Thanks for the reasoned remarks, that is refreshing.
I certainly hope we don’t get to the point of using Abe-level tactics. Suspension of the writ of habeas corpus, etc. We are far from civil war at this point.
However, I have always liked the quote you mention - Abe had a great sense of humor too!
“Take a load off your knees and get some help.”
I probably could afford to lose a little weight.
“The ovation was from LEOs from all over the country...”
Good point. Thanks.
It doesn’t really change the gist of what I said though.
Seems Sessions thinks he has everything under control in the FBI and Justice since he took oath. Wow ..... I can take a deep breath of relief.
How about an alternate theory for the fun of it - Sessions is Mitch McConnell's DOJ tool for the preservation of the uniparty establishment.
Why you ask? Because its his job. Im no fan of Jeffy but Id think far less of him if he didnt defend his subordinates. Like the CEO of a company, if there are higher ups that are out of step you can them (Trump needs to fire some) but dont talk badly about your company. To do so you lose all respect if those at lower levels. Theres THOUSANDS in the dept that have nothing to do with what is taking place
Darn right. On Rush today, I was listening to Trump speak at Quantico for the FBI's graduation. The applause and cheers were deafening.
Trump should have fired Sessions 1 nanosecond after he recused himself.
Of course Sessions could and should have said more.
He could have reassured Americans these agencies WILL be fixed.
He seems to not understand there is a problem.
Therefore, he sees no need to reassure Amercans.
Back in the old days this would be called a coverup.
