Notice that the term is “gun violence” and not “criminals using guns” or “violent criminals that kill”. The former focuses the reader on “guns” when the emphasis for public policy should be on criminals.
I suspect that the Federal Government would have “something to say” about ANY foreign troops showing up in this country. If any troops are to be deployed, they would, of necessity, be American troops. Also, since Chicago (and Cook County) have strict gun control laws, the “peacekeepers” would, of necessity be unarmed.
Get rid of the asinine “gun control” and provide school and public firearms training and you’ll see murders go way down. Right now the Chicago politicians have set up their innocent citizens as ducks in a free fire shooting gallery

Police don’t enforce law in areas because they have been told not to. They are not welcome in various high crime areas because the race-baiters have used them, the LEOs doing their job, as a foil to advance their ends.
