Given that the US is about to reclaim its lead in innovation and investment in communications the rest of the world will need to respond to the US’ improved position relative to their own regulated communications.

Similar response, in kind, to some countries reaction to the US lowering its corporate tax rates.

You mean a solution that our government can impose on internet companies? Is that solution the one that gives everyone fast cheap service and a unicorn that poops skittles?

No!

What is their current “solution” in the sense of all of the current choices available there vs the set of US choices currently available.

I think I am getting your point but what is the “problem” for which you are seeking a “solution”?

“Free” as in speech or “free” as in “beer?”

We are good friends with a couple who are originally from Europe. He is from England she is from Germany. According to him home internet connection speeds in both countries are terrible. He is the IT manager for a 20 location restaurant chain so when they go to visit family he can work remotely some days. The big cities like London or Hamburger are not horrible but anyplace outside a big city is DSL speed or worse.

Not by a long shot.

The term was coined by left-wing professor at Columbia U, Democrat Party hack and long-time New York Slimes op-ed writer, Tim Wu, though. He and others pushed to have ISPs be redefined as common carriers. Wu worked at Obama’s FTC from 2011 to 2012 as a senior adviser.

The post is about net neutrality. You ask about prices and speeds and then ponder “solutions”. If their is a rut it is in thinking that your issues and sought after “solutions” have anything to do with anpost about net neutrality and government regulation of the internet. What’s the connection you are making?

forbidding discriminatory access to the internet...

And the German Ministry of Propaganda decides what is "discriminatory". What could possibly go wrong?

“Solutions” has a number of meanings.

Put into quotes to differentiate it from the meaning assumed by the general tenor of the article as explained above.

Do you have any objective info or do you just like to express your irritation when you have a burr up your butt?
