First step on the path to winning. One of the big reasons, among a million others ; ), for what Clinton lost.

RATs won because of sexual allegations against Moore. I am so afraid that they will use this same technique against Trump in 2020 and be just as successful. God forbid.

That wasn’t the only reason. You’ve left out the perfidy and treachery of the GOPe among other things.

I think by 2020 the whole sexual harassment ploy will be played out.

:So I’m left wondering why we weren’t seeing an election between Mo Brooks and Jones? “

Because the people who really CARE show up for the primaries in off-year elections.

The people who supported Moore were die-hard believers. It’s kind of the same on the left- the ‘extreme’ candidates, the one with strong principles and outspoken ways, attract the kind of people who go to the polls for primaries in an off-year election, who are True Believers. Always been that way.

Excellent point. Most people are motivated to vote in Presidential elections, off years, not so much. That’s when the fringe candidates have the best shot.

According to Hannity, Moore never got more than 52 percent of the vote when he ran in previous Alabama elections. This was long before the false sexual misconduct accusations. For that reason alone I don’t understand why Bannon pushed so hard for Moore, Moore has never been a truly popular politician in Alabama.

What was Bannon thinking?

“BULLcrap, Bannon. 50% of GOP voters stayed home because Moore was so despised.”

Actually, the 50% turnout vs 92% (compared to 2016 - not absolute turnout) is exactly what Bannon is talking about.

RNC did not do their job to get turnout. Even a slight increase puts Moore over the top.

RNC worked actively to lower turnout and lower support for the a Republican candidate.

And, the idea that Moore was “so despised” that the voters stayed home is ludicrous. If so, Moore would not have beaten Strange one on one.

He got ZERO support from 95% of the GOP:

The result will only steel my Trump loyalty and unslakable loathing of the Country-Club, checked-pants Vichy France GOP.

RNC accidently on purpose dropped the ball with a less than even half hearted effort (or was it a quarter hearted effort?). Moore is a putz too.

McConnell loved Strange, because he’s a “swamp person” and would have fit right in as Mitch continues to screw Trump. Lastly, I have to end up wondering just how Moore won the Primary in the first place?

Then I guess Trump is a swamp person too because he supported Luther Strange. In hindsight Luther Strange would have been great compared to Doug Jones. Mo Brooks would have been even better.

Moore won the primary because of his name recognition and standing up for the 10 commandments monument. Until the accusations broke out Moore was a pillar of the community and wasn't as slick and phony as Strange. There was never any doubt in the public's mind that Moore would do what he said -- less so with Luther Strange.

This was a case study in how a religious zealot (Moore) can have the bottom fall out beneath him if doubts are raised about his morals. If a growing group of people start wondering if their candidate is a hypocrite then the candidate can get into trouble pretty quickly. Trump was right.

Bannon had no game in Alabama, ground or other.

Moore hopped on the Bannon band wagon only to find Bannon had no horses to hitch to the wagon to pull his wagon across the finish line

If Bannon wants to be king maker of the Republican Party , he better get some knights in shining armor with strong horses and good, strong mule team for his band wagon

Ground game = vote fraud

Hmmm, what would it take?

Let's say 40 buses, seating 70 people per bus, making 10 stops per bus.

That would be 28,000 votes.

“Then I guess Trump is a swamp person too because he supported Luther Strange.”

I believe that was a political move to try and get closer to Bitch and the GOPe. I don’t see how Trump could have backed Moore initially without further damaging his relationship with the GOPe. Then again, he may well have had reservations about Moore either because he didn’t like the prospect of working with him or perhaps that he had info that led him to believe Moore could not win. But that’s simply conjecture. I don’t think Trump had anything to say after the first primary, but Moore had won it in a three-person race, but not by 50%. So then the “party’s anointed candidate,” Strange, was facing Moore in the runoff, and the guy who in hindsight should have been the candidate, Mo Brooks was out. Trump is still in a bind, and really has no choice but to support Strange. When Moore beat Strange, the GOPe went on to trashing Moore, and then the women accusers conveniently showed up right on cue. I don’t see how Trump could have done anything other than what he did, he was in a no-win place.

“Ground Game”

Translation:

Massive vote fraud.

The dems have to cheat everywhere to win but expect they really had to get down and fraudulent to win in Alabama.
