Republicans fear deep losses in 2018 elections
The Hill ^ | December 13, 2017 | Reid Wilson

After years of strong gains in states across the country, Republicans now fear they stand to lose hundreds of state legislative seats in next year’s midterm elections if there is a significant voter backlash against President Trump.

Any losses would come at the worst time: Just ahead of the redistricting process that begins with the 2020 census.

The GOP almost losing the VA lower house due to getting shellacked in the NoVa area after a rock solid majority should worry the party.

As long as bitch McConnell and his crew are in charge, Conservatives will ride in the back of the bus.

Yep. I’ve said, and stand by this: If the individual mandate still exists on election day in 2018, I’m not just going to not vote. I’m going to vote straight democrat. Rome needs to burn.

The surrender party always finds a reason to surrender. Unless it’s feathering their own nests like an Obamacare exemption.

The GOP Establishment has done everything possible to insure that they will lose the House and Senate majorities in 2018. Entirely self inflicted. They have done nothing at all to advance the Will of The People.

The bottom line is that they are only interested in advancing their own interests and that’s a fact.

They turned a blind eye to the IRS abuse of the Teaparty. I’m done with the national party.

Unless we start producing conservative thought in our schools, it doesn't matter what happens here on Free Republic.

Ditto with Florida and the newly arriving Puerto Ricans. Either we assimilate, or we go the way of Europe.

Mitch & the Beltway Boys are OK with losing. For them it’s better to be the minority party than the party of MAGA.

It works that way.

Don’t get anything done on the job, and the boss fires you.

As long as McTurtle & Ryno are in charge, the GOP should fear losing seats! Tons of them! These two Uniparty, Swamp Dwellers, doing everything they can to hurt President Trump and the nation!

I no longer judge politicians by their words. I judge them by their actions.

To me, they are not the surrender party. They are just the other side of the #uniparty. They are the conservatives’ Lucy with the football.

And we fall for it.

Well, I did until 2006.

News Flash! It’s NOT the Trump backlash - it is the Slimey Establishment backlash that is killing the GOP. Us regular conservative folks that elected the Tea Party representatives (some whom were RINO’s in disguise) and supported Trump (and the Palin/McCain) ticket are still out here and mad as ever.

“They turned a blind eye to the IRS abuse of the Teaparty. I’m done with the national party.”

They didn’t just turn a blind eye. They actively supported the destruction of the tea party. They’re on record as doing so.

It has nothing to do with Trump. Virginia has just about been permanently turned democratic as a result of a couple of decades of a tidal wave of parasites from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New England etc. etc. moving in to suckle off the $20 trillion federal teat.

These people here would hate Mitt Romney, John Kasich, or any other republican just as much as they hate Trump, trust me.
