This poll is an outlier that is using some kind of wishful thinking modeling. GOP has over a +20 advantage in voter registration.
See my #54. I really don’t think they attempt to model the population at all, they have a customer who is paying them to produce a certain outcome and they deliver. They may fiddle the weighting or sampling, or they may just flat-out make it up. It’s not illegal, it’s just a business and there are no ethical or legal standards governing polling (or more accurately, PR) companies.
Any business who hires marketing professionals to communicate the merits of their product does the same thing, but everyone knows it’s spin, hype, PR, advertising, BS - whatever you wish to call it. However when they attach the word “poll”, it somehow acquires some kind of magical validity.
I reject that. Polls are just a tool for influencing people under the guise of science. (Think “global warming hockey stick curve”).
