Petty in that you don’t have to feel so offended by it that you need to react in a childish manner.
They are the ones petty enough to put out a sign. Pettiness is likely all they will understand. Besides, you would only be giving them exactly what they are literally advertising that they want. The fact that what they really want is the opposite of their sign is not your problem.
