The allegation in the article seems like a rather small thing, and the author even admits would seem like a tough case to prove. A bigwig developer finagled a $5000 salary bump for his kid? Seems more like a favor than a payoff but we don’t know what the quid pro quo may have been.
What really surprised me though was that there was no mention of the previous major Albany scandal from a couple years back wherein the speaker of the state Assembly and iirc the leader of the state Senate were both indicted on corruption charges. Cuomo escaped unscathed but not without suspicion and smear by association. How is the author so sure this isn’t the other shoe to drop on the Albany corruption cases?
