This is the best way for a correction, not to offend anyone. I know the name is a very old Scottish name. A translation of a name for a saint. Famous explorer was Scotsman Mungo Park, drowned in Africa 1806.

The band took their name from the T.S. Eliot poem Mungojerrie and Rumplteazer part of "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats", which was adapted into the Broadway musical "Cats".
