This is a half-admission of a total lie. It is apparent from the inscription's rhyme that the actual signer's name was Ray, not Roy. The high school poetry reads: "To a sweeter more beautiful girl I could not say 'Merry Christmas' Love, Ray"
What's funny is that Gloria Allred read it as "Ray" at the big press conference, and had to be corrected by the false accuser.
