“I felt just like that late one night in 1965 way out in the middle of ‘no-where’ Utah.”

Me in 2000. When you look at that sky you can’t help but feel God exists. Unbelievably magnificent.

If you move agencies too far away that could mean a lot of money spent on airfare.

Sure, with the Internet nowadays, people don't have to move around as much as they used to, but really, would that stop government officials from spending money on travel?

If you moved an agency to Philadelphia or Baltimore or Richmond or Wilmington that would just strengthen the liberal Democrat vote in the East.

That wouldn't change anything.

Move government agencies further away, and you'd have officials constantly shuttling back and forth to Washington DC.

Bitter bureaucrats exiled to Boise or Bismarck would likely circle the wagons and be even more hostile to outsiders.

This is the greatest single initiative that President Trump could do to drain the swamp. The faceless bureaucrats ARE the swamp. They are 95% rat commies, making top dollar to sit around and play WOW or look at porn all day. Many of them will quit rather than move, and we will discover that we can get along with half the people the government used to employ. And a lot of the jobs will be taken up by real Americans that want to work.

We need to move the [U.S.] Capital to Lebanon KS, build dormitories for the scum to live in ninety days during the Spring and again in the Fall and they can eat in cafeterias. The rest of the time they can spend with us schlubs that elected them. This idea is more civilized than blowing the place up.

Spreading the functions of government nationwide is a great idea. That way we don't have to blow up lots of cool monuments and buildings to make sure the bureaucrats don't come back.

As for the UN complex in New York after the UN moves??

How many homeless units can that huge U.N. complex provide?

They could move the IRS out to Des Moines, Iowa.

Please don't suggest that. One of my daughters lives there with her family, and it is a great place. Property is cheap, and lots of great stuff nearby. She's ten minutes (walking) from downtown and a recreational lake with a beach (also by walking). Great restaurants and malls nearby, and very little traffic, and friendly people. Not to mention, the country's greatest state fair.

She doesn't need uptight IRS people moving there! Certainly not D.C. liberals.

JayGalt I think you hit the nail on the head with the word “quit”. This is this whole point - to reduce the size of federal “alphabet” agencies.

We have a Department of Education that has never educated even one child. The BLM and Forest Service activities could easily be taken over by state agencies and county sheriffs (has already happened in a few cases).

The Trump administration may not, by law, be able to eliminate federal agencies but he can hollow them out.

It is ok if a federal agency is not relocated away from DC as long as it is a former shell of itself.

Good point! LOL!

Diluting it, should be, might be doable. Maybe

I live where it is full strength, swamp central. It’s ridiculous. Grown adults living in a government La-La land.

I have friends who have conservative views but they are Fed employees and believe it’s normal to deny reality. We have agreed to disagree. (although sometimes it involves some screaming to get to that point. LOL!)

I’d like the whole Fed budget cut in half but I guess there’s some La-La land in me.
