DOJ Reviewing More Than 10,000 Text Messages Between Anti-Trump Mueller Investigators: Report
Daily Caller ^ | 12/6/17 | Chuck Ross

Posted on 12/06/2017 7:30:17 PM PST by markomalley

The Justice Department is sifting through 10,000 text messages involving the FBI agent who was kicked off of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation for making anti-Trump comments.

Fox News reports that the bureau is reviewing “several months” worth of messages that the agent, Peter Strzok, exchanged with Lisa Page, an FBI attorney with whom he was having an affair.

The Justice Department is searching the texts before turning them over to the House Intelligence Committee, a process which could take “weeks.”

The Justice Department’s inspector general discovered over the summer that Strzok and Page exchanged anti-Trump and pro-Clinton text messages last year. After the watchdog informed Mueller’s office, Strzok was “immediately” removed from the Russia investigation, a spokesman for Mueller said over the weekend.

Details of Strzok’s removal were kept secret for months. ABC News reported back in August that Strzok had been demoted from Mueller’s team to the FBI’s human resources division. Attempts to find out the rationale were met by “no comments” from Mueller’s office.

Page left Mueller’s team in July, before the DOJ inspector general notified the special counsel’s office of the text exchanges.

Strzok’s political leanings are significant because of his central importance to FBI’s investigation of possible Trump campaign collusion as well as of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email system.

As the FBI’s No. 2 counterintelligence official, Strzok was tapped at the end of July 2016 to oversee the Russia investigation. He was also a top investigator on the email probe. He interviewed Hillary Clinton and several of her top aides last year about Clinton’s email server, which contained thousands of classified documents.

Strzok was also involved in developing then-FBI Director James Comey’s talking points for his July 5, 2016 statement clearing Clinton of any criminal charges.

As part of the Russia investigation, Strzok conducted the Jan. 24 interview with then-national security adviser Michael Flynn. The retired lieutenant general pleaded guilty last Friday to lying to the FBI during that interview about his conversations with Russia’s ambassador, Sergey Kislyak.

In contrast, Clinton aides Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills appear to have given contradictory statements about their knowledge of Clinton’s server during their interviews with Strzok. They faced no legal ramifications, though.

The House Intelligence Committee is particularly interested in finding out details about Strzok’s role in handling the infamous Steele dossier.

Republicans on the panel are trying to find out whether the FBI used the dossier to obtain surveillance warrants against Trump campaign members. Trump and his campaign associates have denied allegations made against them in the dossier, which was financed by the Clinton campaign and DNC.

It will take at least 10 years to get through that many emails

Peter Strzok can go through them in less than a week, and conclude that there was nothing nefarious in them, and can we please move on.

This guy was able to get through thousands of Clinton e-mails in a weekend right before the election and determine that they were all peachy keen, super clean. Just have him review his own. He’ll get through them really quickly and let us know if they’re okay with as much veracity and integrity as he did when he reviewed hers.

Grassley’s going for it

FBI will just come up with some sob story about how they lost them all in a tragic hard drive crash. Just you wait. New director notwitshtanding, once the IRS got away with it for years, low level deep state flunkies in every agency know they are free and clear to resist, obstruct, and destroy evidence without risk of consequence. DHS, FBI, they all do it now.

Something tells me that this guy, Peter Strzok, was hired into the unique position where he would do the “dirty work” for Comey and Holder and Lynch and Obama and Hillary. Then, Comey could point to the FBI as having investigated “the matters” in question and concluded that there was no harm and illegalities committed. The FBI was being used as the “clean-up” guys for the criminality of the Obama administration and for the many Hillary criminal endeavors. There was no way the anybody in the Hillary campaign and the Obama administration were ever going to be held liable for any of their crimes, not when the criminals were also in charge of the investigations.

They are all afraid of Hillary. They know full well that she is a scorched earth kind of person. And you can bet that has been made very clear to them.

That’s great Grassley is asking for those documents. But when they tell him to piss off, what will he do then? This Congress’s complete refusal to put the hammer down on anyone certainly has not inspired fear in the Deep State.

Remember how they discovered planets, by the unexplained wobbles in the known planetary orbits?

The unseen gravity is BLACKMAIL.

Does anybody not believe that the weaponized FBI does not have the congressional sex files, among other blackmail material? All it takes is one or two blackmailed GOP congress critters on a committee to stop anything from happening.

Ditto Jeff Sessions. The fact that he’s under blackmail control is visible to a blind man. He’s all but blinking it out, like a POW. My only question is over what. Old Klan robe photos? A covered-up manslaughter DUI way back when? Something. And the weaponized FBI has it, and is using it.

Very hard to truly delete messages, they are always found somewhere. Then it can become destruction of evidence, another charge.

Over 10,000 text just between these two adulterous lovebirds trashing Trump and helping Clinton. Heck, did they do any work? Seems like they should REALLY be fired. And a special counsel needs to investigate ALL text and email among all FBI and DOJ employees in the past year or more. Bet lots more in same situation—abusing taxpayer trust, not working, undermining and corrupting their work. And this is just the official text. What about 3rd party apps? What a cesspool of corrupt political hacks. Fire them all!!!

Okay, another point, if any government worker cheered on or encouraged Yates, especially via government email or chat, they should be fired. Clean house.

Will this corruption affect the validity of their law licenses or will they be disbarred?

Would I be correct in that any government official, law enforcement (sarcasm), that used government email and chat to undermine the government, to support Yates, to corrupt investigates, are compromised for any future legal work? How can they have standing in court? They shouldn’t.

“The Justice Department is searching the texts before turning them over to the House Intelligence Committee.” Who in the deep state, I mean the Justice Department, is searching the texts? What are they searching for? They must minimize the damage. The FBI went through 650,000 emails found on Anthony Weiner’s laptop in eight days. They should be able to do 10,000 in three hours.
Travis McGee has it right. “Does anybody not believe that the weaponized FBI does not have the congressional sex files, among other blackmail material? All it takes is one or two blackmailed GOP congress critters on a committee to stop anything from happening. Ditto Jeff Sessions. The fact that he’s under blackmail control is visible to a blind man.” Things on the left are falling apart. Judge Moore is on the way. They have nothing on him except 38 year old bogus allegations. He cannot be controlled. He should have a super security team to watch his back.
