Good analysis. I think the NRA does have brilliant lawyers and I hope they had input into the bill’s language. I think the problem is that weak Republicans are claiming that this bill won’t “override” a state’s “own laws” - so they know it is watered down. They only seem to want protection for people who have valid concealed carry permits in states that actually issued them to citizens who are traveling into states like New York, California, New Jersey and that they could get in trouble with the law y having their guns on them. Residents of the states that violate the 2nd Amendment are left to twist in the wind.

Thank you. Probably wishful thinking at this point that such might ever be actually signed, but....

As a bred and born Californian, anyone, left OR right who wants to leave me twisting in the wind is just as much an enemy, a traitor and may rot in hell as anyone with a D after their name and/or who bows to Mecca 5 times a day.

The fact someone may call themselves a “conservative” and then blow out their nether regions such succor to cowardice as “move to a free state”, or “Too bad you folks voted for moonbeam” is no countryman of mine, nor worthy of the description “American” than a military member who laughingly waves “so long, see you” to a comrade injured on the ground as they ride off in a helicopter, scared to the point of vapors at the sound of gunfire.
