Of course it's Israel's capital. David conquered the city and made it his capital. Solomon built the temple and made His city. Time to recognize the fact is long overdue.

When all hope ends of driving the Jews into the sea, then peace will be possible. Recognizing reality is a step in that direction. The sooner, the better.

Amen!

This point matters not only to evangelical and Jewish supporters of Israel, but to every American sick and tired of Washington, DC politics-as-usual. It tells us in the most direct possible way that BS walks, and Donald Trump delivers.

Time to recognize reality and stop “letting the inmates run the asylum”.

It’s a recognition that some people will never come to the table, so just move on with satisfying those who will & do.

The various political solutions have been total failures. No reason to think that’ll change any time soon

Rather the understatement, wouldn't you say?

What will be announced *from* Jerusalem will make it even more interesting.

Exactly. Trump is using it as a way to force the Palestinians to sh*t or get off the pot. The Trump train is moving on.

The definition of doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is insanity. Trump is doing something different that will burst this boil and force action. It is a brilliant, bold move. There will certainly be blow back--big time from our allies and enemies. Trump is just following the law passed by Congress.

I couldn't agree more. It's long past time to end the kabooki theater we call the "Peace Process'. It's a farce, it's always been a farce and it will NEVER result in peace as long as a single Jew still draws breath in Israel.

Much bigger plan should be including but not limited to:

* help from Mossad to defeat Islamic terror
* greater intelligence sharing - Mossad should insist and help Trump get rid of the 0bama leftovers
* Netanyahu should get as part of this help with Oil and gas from the US
* plan from Trump to be totally free of any and all Middle Eastern sourced oil...not a drop more...defund all Middle Eastern activity less Israel
* share technology with Israel to defeat muzzies

Unfortunately the Arab mind's capacity for self-delusion appears to be bottomless.

Single state + full voting rights. No longer an apartheid state.

For the umpteenth time, if people haven't figured out that Trump always plans multiple steps ahead, then they may never get it. When a (controversial) tweet or pronouncement/declaration is made, the preparatory steps were prepared long ago.

Everything - everything - Trump does 24/7 is a set-up to win. It's what he does all day long - think/breathe up some kind of project and/or initiative where he "wins".

So, what's the quid pro quo over Jerusalem? What is Trump giving up/gaining by this action? Remember, everything he does is geared towards US interests; a true patriot. How does this help the USA?

A lot of them may bottom-out when the Saudi bank drafts fail to show up in their accounts

Seems to me it’s no other country’s business where we place our embassy or what city we recognize as Israel’s Capitol.

In an odd sense, the biggest influence on these developments in the Middle East has been the mass migration of all these "refugees" to Europe over the last few years.

There's one thing about this story that nobody has mentioned:

There was never a mass migration of Palestinians out of Israel and the various "occupied territories" to Europe over the last 50+ years.

Think about it ...

If Palestinians were in such bad shape there, how hard would it have been for them to migrate to Europe just like all the rest of these people from Iraq, Syria, Libya and other surrounding countries? There's a simple reason why they never did this. Despite the disorder and difficulties they may face at home, they probably know that they're better off than they'd be in most other parts of the world.

I'm one of those who has been suggesting that the U.S. should proceed cautiously in this whole thing, and I'm OK with how everything has unfolded. To me, the most interesting angle to the story this week is the involvement of the Saudi and Egyptian governments. The whole region seems to be sick and tired of what has been the status quo for decades.
