The goal seems to be to bankrupt as many people close to Trump as possible. In effect, they are ruined financially while being completely innocent.

The Left knows this. They’re doing their best to discourage anyone on the right from entering government service.

I am starting to wonder if it might be prudent to allow current or former administration officials who are accused of a bureaucratic ‘crimes’ (e.g. involving paperwork omissions, incorrect statements, or similar bureaucratic gotchas that do not involve money/bribes) while in the service of their duties to be allowed to ask for a court appointed attorney for their defense.

It would not help Manafort, but it would help people like Flynn and Scooter Libby who are/were bankrupted by malicious prosecutors.

I don’t have a problem with it.

It’s not right that people should be financially ruined for a gotcha offense related to a testimony mistake.
