The lesson to be learned is...

Never

Ever

Answer any question posed to you by an FBI agent.

You have the right to remain silent. Use duct tape if you have to.

I now believe that Sessions supported Trump so that he could become AG, and then enable Mueller and Comey in bringing down Trump.

100% correct! If that joker can stay awake long enough, he should resign.

I disagree that Sessions supported Trump to get to be AG as a way to enable Mueller and Comey to bring down Trump.

If I were to speculate,...Sessions was very very outspoken as a Senator on pro-secure the border, anti-illegal immigration. He supported Trump consistently through the primaries unlike the GOPe and RINOs, many who verbally attacked Trump from primary...to election...and beyond...in ways they never ever attacked any democrap. Trump took Sessions on because he saw him as someone who could help big time on this issue as AG. For example, starting with the battle on democrap sanctuary cities. Trump was not concerned with the Russian collusion lie. If he was, he would be like a dirty democrap and get someone in the AG position who could “fix” the problem.

Trump and Sessions both believe(d) that the Russia collusion story is a lie and would go nowhere. Sessions made a rather quick decision to recuse himself from the Russia investigation b/c of an insignificant, previously unreported conversation “with a bottle of Russian salad dressing” (/sarc). Sessions must have thought he was taking the moral high road to avoid the scintilla of appearance of impropriety, based on his personal knowledge of things and Trump’s statements that there is nothing in the collusion lie. He did not appear to consult with Trump before deciding this.

In hindsight, for such a seasoned Senator, this was a huge political blunder usually made by politcal mortals, but for which Sessions did not consider it was not he would really pay the price. His decision put Trump at a huge political disadvantage, especially with the way Mueller came about and is playing the insider’s game - which appears to try to find some evidence somewhere (totally unrelated to Russia collusion) take down a duly elected President. In addition, Sessions decision has required a lot of the administration’s energy to not be spent on other matters.

The truth will emerge. When it is shown that Trump is telling the truth those liars and false witnesses will be recorded for history. I think Trump is going to let this Mueller thing play out without interference because there is really is nothing there. Some think the deep state will go after his family/business dealings when they find nothing. I am not concerned - consider how many times the IRS audited him. As Trump showed in the primaries, and all the stuff that has been thrown at him, he is one tough, thick-skinned guy - who hits back harder. He will be a major American historical President for so many reasons. Jimmy Carter and Obama will be lesser, almost forgotten 100 years from now.

The purpose of all the lies and media onslaught is to undermine the support of his base - once that is gone, he would be toast. But this is where all these so called “smart people” don’t get it - Trump, a 70 year old guy has embraced the new technology - he gets his message directly to his base and to his detractors instantly - it is not filtered through the fake news machine. His base is staying strong - the base which is also vilified along with Trump as deplorable, uneducated, racist, privileged, etc etc. Think of it this way - that the media and democraps don’t get - Trump supporters know that they are none of the things that these liars accuse them of being, so why should they believe what Trump haters say about Trump. It is personal now.

Sessions is not an instrument in trying to take down the President. But he has been politically castrated on this issue, and it is to Trump’s, and really to the country’s great detriment that so much energy/resources are being spent on lies that might in the end hurt the political and constitutional fabric of this great country.

Sessions is not an instrument in trying to take down the President....

Perhaps not intentionally, but it was his influence that got Rosenstein nominated which led to the subsequent illegal Mueller appointment - since there was no underlying crime committed

Also sessions is going out of his way to protect the dems by allowing DOJ/FBI stonewalling of congressional investigations, etc. It took Trump’s direct intervention to lift the DOJ gag order from the Uranium one witness.

sessions clearly does not have the confidence of the POS. He was publicly rebuked several times, to include Trump saying he wouldn’t have nominated him if he knew he would recuse himself from the Russia investigation. (Which means he knew there would be one)

sessions is obviously in the swamp, otherwise he would resign. His fellow swamp dwellers in congress have warned Trump about firing him so I guess he figures the collateral damage is not worth it.

If sessions had a scintilla of integrity he would resign. Since he hasn’t it shows he doesn’t.

Hillary could get away with telling lies time and again.

Welcome to the banana republic.
