Not only was it after the election. It was after the December 19th Electoral College vote that officially established Donald J. Trump as the next President of the United States.

I’m probably being ignorant here - but really not following the concern here. Once someone reaches title of President-Elect, wouldn’t we want them starting relationships / talking to other Nations sooner rather than later?
