This is all a product of Liberal ideology.

They believe morality is relative. Given that, what's to stop a man from simply acting on his natural impulses.

There's nothing wrong with it in their ideology so why not just pluck the fruit from any tree in the garden and take a healthy bite.

STATEMENT FROM MINNESOTA PUBLIC RADIO REGARDING GARRISON KEILLOR AND A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION

NOVEMBER 29, 2017

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) is terminating its contracts with Garrison Keillor and his private media companies after recently learning of allegations of his inappropriate behavior with an individual who worked with him.

Last month, MPR was notified of the allegations which relate to Mr. Keillor’s conduct while he was responsible for the production of A Prairie Home Companion (APHC). MPR President Jon McTaggart immediately informed the MPR Board Chair, and a special Board committee was appointed to provide oversight and ongoing counsel. In addition, MPR retained an outside law firm to conduct an independent investigation of the allegations. Based on what we currently know, there are no similar allegations involving other staff. The attorney leading the independent investigation has been conducting interviews and reviewing documents, and the investigation is still ongoing. We encourage anyone with additional information to call our confidential hotline 1-877-767-7781.

MPR takes these allegations seriously and we are committed to maintaining a safe, respectful and supportive work environment for all employees and everyone associated with MPR. We want a workplace where anyone who experiences unwanted behavior feels comfortable in reporting concerns to MPR. Discrimination, harassment, retaliation or other inappropriate behaviors will not be tolerated.

MPR will end its business relationships with Mr. Keillor’s media companies effective immediately. By terminating the contracts, MPR and American Public Media (APM) will:

* end distribution and broadcast of The Writer’s Almanac and rebroadcasts of The Best of A Prairie Home Companion hosted by Garrison Keillor;

* change the name of APM’s weekly music and variety program hosted by Chris Thile; and,

* separate from the Pretty Good Goods online catalog and the PrairieHome.org website.

MPR and APM will work closely with public radio stations to help make the programming transitions as seamless as possible. “Garrison Keillor has been an important part of the growth and success of MPR, and all of us in the MPR community are saddened by these circumstances,” said Jon McTaggart, President of MPR. “While we appreciate the contributions Garrison has made to MPR and to all of public radio, we believe this decision is the right thing to do and is necessary to continue to earn the trust of our audiences, employees and supporters of our public service.” “Over the last several weeks, the special Board Committee has worked closely with MPR President Jon McTaggart and legal counsel to review the facts as we know them and carefully consider the implications of the various options,” said David Murphy, Chair of the MPR Board of Trustees. “The Board Committee concluded that terminating the Keillor relationships was the appropriate decision and the Board and Jon are aligned in this action. Fortunately, MPR is one of the strongest public broadcasting organizations in the country. We are confident MPR will continue to innovate with programming and content that ensures MPR will remain one of the most valued sources of news, information and entertainment for decades to come.”

Quite an article, really more a fawning obituary for a moribund career than news. Not one mention of what actually got him fired, only how great he was. I’m sure they’d offer a Republican the same consideration. Sure they would.

Ha! There was a post earlier asking who we thought would be next to be outed.
My mind went to Keillor but I figured it was just wishful thinking and now it comes true, lol.

I like his work if not his political views. But really enough with mere allegations being enough to get a man sent to Coventry. The boundaries of what is and what is not acceptable behavior towards female co-workers seems to be shifting with mild unwelcome flirtation being scored the same as gross vulgar physical contact.

Some women need to get a grip and ask themselves if they have always behaved in a professional manner. I’d use the term lady-like but Heaven forbid. My point is that most men are not salivating unchained sex hounds ready to pounce at even the most demure behavior. Sexist as it may be in the majority of male-female encounters the woman sets the tone.

So far, there’s a pattern to the names Grijalva, Green, Weinstein, Franken, Rose and now Keillor: They are all uglier than sin, which probably explains why they had to first acquire power in order to grope with supposed impunity.

I can’t find any evidence that Keillor’s offense was “with a woman”. Could it be the inappropriate conduct was involving some other life form?

The story has been updated to say he claims he put his hand on a woman’s back. His hand went six inches into her shirt.

What? Did he get caught spitting in the Powder Milk biscuits again?

Certainly this guy is no peach, but it seems as though his contact with the woman was somewhat innocent- at least not as blatantly sexual as other instances that have come to light with others recently.

This is a statement from Keilor:

"I put my hand on a woman’s bare back,” he told the Star Tribune in an email. “I meant to pat her back after she told me about her unhappiness and her shirt was open and my hand went up it about six inches. She recoiled. I apologized. I sent her an email of apology later and she replied that she had forgiven me and not to think about it. We were friends. We continued to be friendly right up until her lawyer called.”

If this is all there is, the firing is ridiculous! Now, a caveat, there could be more that comes up in the coming days like what is happening with Lauer. Full disclosure, I listened to 'The Prairie Home Companion' for many years and have read just about all of his books. Yes, he's a flaming lefty and it would come out from time to time in his broadcasts, but he wasn't a nasty lefty. Quite honestly, if you read his books they could be written by a conservative. He is the modern day and Midwestern version of Mark Twain IMO. The only time he really got me mad is his snooty remarks about the rolling thunder coming into Washington DC and messing up his time looking at paintings because they are so loud.

Folks, look at the above remarks and if a conservative were fired and that was the only allegation, we would all be howling to high heaven. I'm afraid this may turn into a witch hunt. Yes, everyone so far that has been fired, looks like they had it coming to them. But this one, if this is the only allegation, is not warranted IMO.
