The point is to alleviate suffering.


For some, maybe for you.

For most, meat is something in the nice package at the grocery store.

When one kills and butchers his own meat there is much more respect for life, I mean all life. We have lost this.

Thus kosher is a ritual. the meaning of it is lost.............

During WWII we raised rabbits. While Dad was off to the Navy, it fell to me to care for them, and to kill and butcher them as needed. I always stunned them by cracking their necks before cutting their heads off. If I didn't do it right, sometimes they'd start screeching while I was hacking at their neck.
