NBC has fired longtime ‘Today’ host Matt Lauer following allegations of workplace misconduct, the network announced on Wednesday.
“We are devastated,” ‘Today’ co-host Savannah Gutherie said in a visually emotional statement. “All we can say is we are heartbroken.”
Gutherie said that NBC News chairman Andy Lack informed employees of the decision on Tuesday night after having received a complaint about Lauer's behavior the night before. She read Lack's note on-air, noting that while the network says it had never received a complaint about Lauer before, it has "reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident.
"We received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Layer," she said. "It represented, after a serious review, a clear violation of our company's standards. As a result, we've decided to terminate his employment. While it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over 20 years he has been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident. our highest priority is to create a workplace environment where everyone feels safe and protected. and any action that runs counter to our core values are met with consequences. we are saddened by these events. we will face it together as a news organization and do it as transparent a manner as we can.

They found out about it on a Monday, did a “serious review”, and fired him by Tuesday? That’s a CYA move if I ever saw one. Incriminating photo or email or voicemail?

I do believe in many of these cases (an my opinion is supported by what many of these female reporters confirm) is that quite a number of these guys are well known (as in “never get in the elevator alone with that guy”) but due to their power and influence they have had immunity. Now all of a sudden their “immunity” is gone.
Which makes me believe Roy Moore even more. If the libtards had this kind of dirt on Moore they would have disgraced him back when they were pitching a fit about the Ten COmmandments.
And do NOT find yourself alone in any venue with them, especially if you're in a position of any kind of power. VP Pence has it exactly right.
He was probably just picking his nose in such a way that made his co-workers feel “uncomfortable”.
