The problem is the percentage of the rural population has been declining for decades. Republicans need to confront this fact and that, at some point, the Senate will be elected by urban dwellers.

When I was a young lad, New York State had 41 electoral votes. It is now 27.

You make assumptions your ego cannot sustain.

But let me be the “bigger man”, and explain my perspective...

I fully understand how far to the left we have been pushed. I fully understand that far too many of our erstwhile “public servants” are sycophant leftists rooting against americanism. But I also recognize that the alternative to a political undertow against the liberal bent is a bloody, hot war whose outcome is not certain.

Rather than hoping for such a grim outcome, I prefer to try (first) for a ratcheting back toward the republic we were founded to be. We did not get where we are overnight. It will take both time and effort to recover what we have lost.

Your supposed moral superiority over me is crap. We are of an age, FRiend. But you look at the world in childish eyes - in the eyes of an abused child. I see with the eyes of one who understands the price of failing to politically reverse the current decline. The price is worth avoiding, as much as it is worth paying.

MSNBC, in the past if you wanted to hear about some wacky conspiracy stuff you needed to go to Infowars or something like that. These days you just tune into MSNBC and see this kinda crackpot madness all day

If Jared Yates Sexton truly understands the Constitution, he, along with Joy Reid, would understand their treason.

not that they care

Respectfully, your attempt to cloak a ‘more of the same’ political remedy to our metastasized nation falls short of reality. History repeats itself and any reading of the falls of great civilizations leads one to where we stand today. For reasons unknown to me you have chosen to paint me with a broad brush. I’m an individual representing myself. I belong to no clubs, groups, or cliques of people professing to think like I do. There is nothing I’d enjoy more than to live out my remaining years in peace with my family, but what I see unfolding daily has led me to the conclusion that politics, unless radically changed, are doomed to fail. Feel free to ignore the foreboding feeling I have, but please don’t put words in my mouth. I have absolutely no problem explaining my thoughts to those who fail to see our current state of political affairs. Good luck on your continued political journey. I’d like nothing more than to see it succeed.

She has two obvious diversity credits, and she is dumb as a rock. With those qualifications alone, she could run in 2020 against Trump.

Currently (see post #34) the 15 largest states have 287 seats in the House of Reps, almost 66% of the total. Add in numbers 16 & 17 (which have 9 each, same as 14 and 16) and the total is 305, over 70 percent. Obvsiously the goal must be to remain competitive in blue states and remain dominant in red states.

BTW, the 50 mark is exceeded by the time one reaches Michigan (inclusive), IOW, just the top nine. California has nearly the same total as Florida and New York put together.

Joy, you’re a booger eating moron who doesn’t understand what the difference was supposed to be between the House and Senate, or for that matter, the design and genius of those who designed the government of the USA.

To this day, I believe that the 17th Amendment of the Constitution was one of the biggest mistakes ever made, but it was part of the ongoing assault on the republic, started before the Civil War. It turned the senate into an extension of the house, except with longer terms. Joy here, the BEM, doesn’t understand that the senate is supposed to represent the interests of the state they represent, not “the whims of the people!” It’s NOT based on population. But I’m sure that the concept of a republic escapes her as well.

Exactly.

Venezuela democratically voted Hugo Chavez and his socialist government into power.

Germany’s Wiemar Republic selected Adolf Hitler as Chancellor, and “legally” granted him more and more power, until he took ultimate control.

The democracy founded by the French Revolution led to a bloodbath.

The founders of the USA realized that democracy is a very dangerous thing that eventually leads to tyranny.

There isn’t a Liberal alive that wouldn’t turn down a chance to help load Conservatives into the Railroad Cattle Cars on their way to the Obama Concentration Camps.

I guess she is going to starve after she gets rid of all those rural farmers; but she probably thinks her food comes from the grocery store and they get it from....right, she doesn’t think that far.
