The argument has little to do with Roy Moore, and even less with what is acceptable behavior. It is about what Lenin succinctly called “who, whom?” — who can do what to whom or, as Amos ’n Andy used to say, who’s gonna be the “do-er” and who the “do-ee,” neither more nor less. The reason why the bipartisan ruling class of officials, corporate executives, educators, the media, entertainment, etc. demand Roy Moore’s political scalp is that it fell on Moore to be the focus of a pivotal effort to detach the Republican Party from that ruling class. It has nothing to do with what he may have done four decades ago, and everything with the threat that his election now poses to their power to run the country while de-legitimizing the rest of Americans and their culture. Had it been anyone else, the degree of hostility would have been the same, the charges possibly different but just as fiery and equally beside the point: which sector of the population shall have its power enhanced, and which diminished?
By precisely the same token, crediting the 2016 election’s outcome to Russia or/and “the resistance” thereto to concerns with Donald Trump’s personal proclivities bespeaks willful detachment from reality.
Focusing on the ruling class’s hypocrisy, its sordid history of approving behavior by its members far worse than that with which it charges Roy Moore, crying “tu qoque!” not only lends unwarranted credence to its charges on Moore.

Conservatives need to focus on ensuring Senate confirmation of Supreme Court appointments.
You vote for Moore because he is a Republican and will vote for tax cuts, Trump’s judges and enact the rest of Trump’s agenda, and his opponent will do none of these things.

Did McConnell ever congratulate Moore for winning the primary? If not he should have been kicked out of his leadership position.

This is to complete Session’s term. Another 2 years there’ll be another vote. The charges seem suspect at best.
I wouldn’t vote for a Democrat for dog catcher. Voting for a pro-abort is an act of mass murder.

McConnell is deathly afraid of Moore and justifiably so. Moore is going to be McConnell’s worst nightmare when he is officially seated in the Senate.

The argument is pretty clear, Moore may be a scumbag, but we are at war, and the alternative is surrendering to the enemy.
McConnell and the rest of the Cheap Labor Express Republicans do not want him.
That’s reason enough to elect him.
This is why democrats(marxists) forged Moore’s signature on that yearbook and got women to lie against Moore: It was To stop Trump’s judges and agenda.

We also need to send a message that 40 year old UNPROVEN allegations are never a reason to not vote for someone regardless of party affiliation.

Codevilla’s argument is spot on - Moore is the current point-of-the-spear in changing the status quo in Washington. The fact that it’s Moore doesn’t matter to the establishment elite - if it was somebody else from outside the club, they’d find something on him or her to tear them down. And whether true or false, the business about indiscretions 30 years ago is irrelevant as well - the establishment elites are quite happy to excuse worse in those they’re allied with.
The bottom line is whether the people of Alabama are serious about sending a shot across the bow of the establishment powers; exactly who the person is who is the personification of that message is essentially secondary - Roy Moore will do just fine.
