Gunman Stephen Paddock fired more than 1,100 rounds the night of the Las Vegas shooting, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo told the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Wednesday. The new total includes about 200 rounds fired from Paddock’s Mandalay Bay corner suite and into the hallway of the 32nd floor late Oct. 1, injuring hotel security guard Jesus Campos... Investigators have not determined why Paddock stopped shooting. Lombardo said they found about 4,000 more rounds of unused ammunition in the gunman’s suite. Never heard of Paddock drilling.
I was under the impression that Campos was up there and heard shots being fired.
I saw that post about all that and to be blunt, it’s the only story that has made any sense.
I thought this was an established hoax...

Yea, lots of those people were right here on Freerepublic, and they had no experience with bump stocks, other than what they read somewhere. A couple of us that actually have experience with them rebutted that. A number of FReepers were calling for banning them, I guess because their all principled and stuff. This whole thing smells bad, a lot of innocent people died. I don’t know what the real story is, but based on the minute info we do have, it smells rotten to me. Hope, and willing to be wrong, we’ll see.

I do not recall seeing any photos of the areas in the suites just to the rear off the broken out windows, where you would have expected to see most of the brass.
